On 5/12 while in Panama City, Panama (airport):

The beer appeared to be light pale yellow in color with a big white head that dissipated quickly with some noticeable carbonation streaming to the top. 2.5

The beer had a light aroma, grainy. Upon appearance, it was pretty much the aroma that I expected.

The taste was better than expected, light grainy, not much else, but I think that it had more flavor than most of the style.

The beer had a light feel and was extremely drinkable, probably could have put down a couple if I had the time and this beer is really suited for the hot days and nights in Panama. 3 and 3

Overall, between Atlas, Balboa, Panama and Soberana, this beer is probably the third best, but worth trying.

National Beer of Panama. Color is pale yellow, clear and high carbonation. Head is timid and frothy white. This is all typical adjunct smell. Nothing inviting. Little floral notes in the nose. The only good thing. Lets take a sip. Awful. It taste something but nothing good. Refreshing anyway, but wouldn't drink more than one. Yes, I could drink this in a hot summer day instead of water but this is not a beer to search for... mediocre at best.

Hahahahaha, who the heck would drink a Panamanian beer anywhere else except Panama? Wow, woofed down mucho cervesa on a recent trip to Panama, all brands, Panama, Balboa, Atlas and Soberana and "came up" asking for more. They are all damn good and worth a try when in Panama. If you are expecting Sam Adams or the like you will really be disappointed. If you are looking for "sun in a bottle" and mucho refresco, pop the cap or pull the tab, you are in for excitement.

A- Pours a pale yellow color, foamy white head that dissipates quickly.

S- Light, grainy malts, lots of corn/adjuncts. Not much else at all.

T- More light grains, corn, sweet overall, falls pretty much in line with the other Panamanian beers.

M- Light bodied, lots of carbonation, crisp and clean finish.

O- An easy drinking hot weather beer, the adjuncts on this one are under control, and like most Panamanian beers it's actually pretty decent, in the flavor department it probably comes in a bit behind Panama and Balboa. Worth a shot if you're ever in the area.

Tried this last week in Bocas Del Toro, Panama.

Beer has a very light appearance, clear and a faint straw gold color.

Noticed very little aromas, nothing bad, but really nothing standing out at all. Maybe a slight yeasty bread like quality... but it's faint.

Taste is very bland, and I notice a lot of adjuncts, mostly a corn like quality. Beer does have a bit of a crisp dry quality that is it's only saving grace.

Mouthfeel is watered down.

No thanks, I had one, and that was plenty.

I will say this about Atlas, their marketing is everywhere in Panama. At least a third of the bars were painted in Atlas blue with the Atlas log plastered everywhere.

Poured into a glass, the beer is light gold with a nose of grass and grains.

The taste is slightly sweet and a bit grainy. Some sight floral notes and corn. It reminds me a bit of a High Life with all that corn. Hops are on the label but are pretty much MIA from the beer.

The mouth is crisp with good carbonation. It is easy to pair with the local cuisine. All-in-All, a kind of standard hot weather lager.

The locals call it "At last" for it is the beer everyone drinks at the end of a day's work. Great for drinking in Panama, or a similarly warm place. Goes down easy. Really relaxing. But I repeat, it's only worth drinking in a how environment or you'll notice how light it is.

Good beer for hot summer days. Good appearance, color and taste. Nose is odd, similar to old hudopohl beer. This panamanian lager is far better than the mass produced thirst quencher called budwieser.

Served very cold from can, poured into glass. Minimal head, smells sort of bread-like in the malty nose. This beer is the flagship product of cerveceria nacional in Panama.

Taste carries both hop and malt notes, served very cold it is a very refreshing product. I am not getting a lot of corny notes from this can though I have found them before in this beer.

Aftertaste is unremarkable, mildly bitter and not too long.

This is a very refreshing product, and anecdotally I have often found it actualy tastes better drunk straight from the bottle. As with other beers here, it suffers from batch variation and risk of damage from heat and/or sunlight, especially bottles.

Most popular beer in the country.
it has a yellow, corn color, see-through-glass appearance
within the tastes you can feel the aditives and its barley hops

Low av%

mouthfeel: in the is more like water with some color and beer smell, is so light in taste, that this is why everybody buys it in pack's of 24.

This is the nemesis of Panama beer. They are all found everywhere. But the corny flavors does not help much with this. I think it is a little discuting. But anyway, the colour was bright yellow, and the smell was a little like water. A little foam, just to remind you it is a beer what you are drinking.

This is the last review of crappy beer I drank on my recent two week trip to South American and the Caribbean. There was one good beer in there (Ironshore Bock in the Cayman Islands), but this one was another loser, as expected.

But it was not a bummer to drink. I had it in the street in front of a little shop in the old city section of Panama City, Panama. It was cheap - way less than a dollar, and when you are on a cruise, anything under $4 is a deal. It is hot in Panama, but really it was not that hot a day, but the beer was very refreshing.

It had no character, though. Typical American style crap. I wonder if they will ever figure out that tourists would love some good beer. Maybe the natives need to want it first, they are probably the primary consumers of this.

The color is pale yellow with good carbonation. A small, creamy head leaves only a small ring after only a few minutes. The aroma has an overall mild strength and consists of sweet macro smell with a faint trace of hops. The flavor is sweet and corny with just a hint of hops that I could be imagining. An off-flavor comes into play towards the finish and gets worse as the beer warms up. This works only as a thirst-quincher, I would only pick this up again if I were dying of thrist in Panama.

Clear golden body with half finger head with some retention and lacing. Pale malt and sweet corn aroma, some honey. Flavor of pale malts which are only mildly bitter and musty with more of a sweet corn presence. Light body and moderate carbonation with a crisp finish.
