Picked up a bottle from the bargain bin at Sam's Quik Stop. Green bottle + bargain bin = classic skunky aroma, right from popping the cap. Poured a clear golden with a flash of a small white head that disappears quickly. Upon further inspection, nose is skunk and a touch of classic German lager yeast. Nice pilsner taste, with notes of yeast, sharp hops, and a touch of lemon. Body becomes foamy towards the back of the mouth. Taste of Rather dry finish. I'd imagine this is a pretty solid beer when its fresh.

No can date
Pours a fizzy bubbly 1 finger head with lower retention, a touch of lacing, mostly clear very light hazy sediment golden pilsner color
Nose lots of doughy pilsner malt, cereal, grainy straw, raw doughy grist like, touch of vanilla and corn, light herbal spicy hop
Taste brings cereal grain, straw, lots of raw dough and again that rustic earthy grist, some corn, vanilla, cracker even, fair herbal earthy hops in the middle present throughout, slight metallic note, med bitterness, dry semi crisp and soft finish, higher spicy hop bitterness with a touch more of a metallic note again
Mouth is med to lighter bod, soft lager, med to lower carb
Overall eh, I feel like this isn't what the original pilsner was like, a bit metallic and bitter spicy finish that doesn't sit well, but the lager side is nice at least

US ‘Pint’ can poured into willi becher. Suspect they get this tanked over from Germany and canned in the US, similar to other beers from this distributor. No born on date. Biscuity aroma, good side lacing and head retention. Light clear color. Clean finish with perfectly balanced hop bite. Silky mouthfeel. Citrus aftertaste. Pleasantly surprised at the quality of this beer. Will be purchasing again.

Beautiful in the glass. Amazing head. Lemony, gingery slightly hoppy. Delicate and refined brew. Superb for its style. The true "champagne of beers" right here.

Appearance: Pours a clear, light golden color with a strong white head. SRM of 6. (4.00)
Aroma: Moderate aromas upfront of flower and grassy hops. Some bread yeast followed by a light cracker sweetness through the end. (4.25)
Flavor: Moderate flavors of flowery yeast for a second, then slightly earthy before following into a grain profile. Just like the nose, some sweet cracker lingers through middle for a slightly sweet finish. (4.25)
Feel: Medium-bodied. Appropriate carbonation. Minimal bitterness. (4.00)
Compared to Jever Pils 8/5/22: Pours a similar color. Stronger aromas. More sweet cracker malt. Less dry yeast. Leans sweeter.
10/2023: Pours similar, milder head. Midler aromas. More smooth grains, dry yeast. Less floral and honey notes.
Compared to Veltins Pilsner 10/2023: Pours similar. Strnger aromas. More bright floral notes. Less smooth bread malts. Dryer.
Overall: A very flavorful German Pilsner here. This one has a nice balanced hop and malt profile. Leans slightly sweet with a cracker malt sweetness. Appropriate in all aspects for the German Pils style. Sort of reminds me of Ayinger. Definitely worth picking up and will try to again. (Rating: 4.21)

1.5 x 0.33 L Bottles
Consumed: 22 july, 2022
Glass: 0.5L Pokal
Temp at Pour: 52.1 F
Look:
Clear straw yellow. Initial 3-finger rocky white head dissipates to a very thin but consistent cover. Nice lattice-like lacing is left along the glass.
Smell:
Light biscuit dough and soda crackers with a noticeable lemon note. Scents of cut grass. There is a tinge of sulphur that fades quickly.
Taste:
Follows the nose for the most part. There are mineral notes present, especially the sulphur that can be detected in the nose. Bitterness is mild but noticeable and enough to more than balance out any sweetness from the malts. The sip finishes fairly dry with that aforementioned mild bitterness.
Feel:
Crisp and clean with that nicely dry finish. Body is light.
Overall:
A refreshing and thirst-quenching brew. The more that I drink this beer, the more that I like it. This is a solid German Pilsner that ticks all of the boxes of that style. I look forward to having more.

Can from OEC.
Crystal clear straw yellow with a dense white head with excellent retention and lacing. The nose is a blend of soft honey, dough, a little bit of straw and cereal worth mild hops. Not as fresh and vibrant as I recall. The palate opens crisp, clean and a little doughy with a mildly cheesy hop character. Floral, lemony, clean. Drying, slightly watery finish. Solid.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Crystal clear, light golden color with 2-3 fingers of fluff that dissipates into thinly laced archipelagos of bubbles and foam. Smell of fresh cut grass and overripe banana. Taste follows but is a bit subdued on the hops that should be more up-front in pilsners. The mouthfeel is the clear winner here as this beer goes down extremely smooth and easy. Great pilsner, but not in my top tier.
