Poured into a Gouyasse tulip glass. Pours a slightly hazy, light yellowish golden amber. Two finger fine white head with good retention and tons of lacing. Aroma of bready malt, light fruit juice, Belgian spicing and a hint of mineral water. Flavor is bready and biscuit malt with apple and pear juice, honey and hints of tropical fruit. Spice and light hops bitterness in the finish with a hint of oak. Medium bodied with good mouth feel from the active carbonation. Although the flavors are somewhat subdued, the ABV is well covered. A very pleasant and refreshing Belgian pale ale I will certainly revisit.

De Belgiuminabox. En copa Grimbergen. Jugando a Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Con queso de Codi. Pues la verdad es que no me ha sabido mucho a miel. Simplemente una belgian strong palé normalita, sin mucho que decir ni para bien ni para mal.

Not sure what to make of this beer.
And with a wide range of ratings, it seems there is no consensus.
Let me say that this is a very different beer produced by a small, quirky Belgian brewery with only two beers getting any distribution in the this country.
It adds up that this is a square peg that doesn't fit the round style of a Belgian pale strong.
For my tastes, the hops last too long too go with food.
Reviewed in MJ's "Great Beers of Belgium" and likes this brewery and beer. A short quotation of his review "Bieken (punningly a bee) is based on Pilsener malts. Curacao peels give a fruity edge to balance the sweetness of the honey... with an appetizing dryness in the finish."

Color: light yellow, clear. Foam white, compact, solid and substantial. Long remains in a glass, it is decorated nicely.
Aroma: caramel with a touch of lemon and light maltiness.
Taste: malty with hints of honey and caramel, lemon wanders somewhere far away in the background.
Gentian: clear, sharp, alcohol, a little bothered. High saturation, quickly causes a feeling of satiety. Alcohol slightly perceptible, can be.

Light honey aromas with light lemon and light malt. Pours cloudy gold with a 1” fluffy foam head, dissipates to a thin film that produces good lacing. Some small particles are also suspended in the beer. Spicy palate with light fruit, traces of honey, bitter finish. Very creamy medium body with above average carbonation. Carbonation is crisp with a little bite.
