.33L pop cap bottle poured into my favorite Kloster Kreuzberg stoneware mug. freshness date 4NOV2012

This is not a Maibock. It is very much a dark Bock in the traditional sense. Similar in appearance to a brown ale, this pours like a dream into your stein of choice. Head was light and ephemeral drifting away after the first few sips. Pleasant whiff of caramel brown sugar as I inhale.

Smooth and wonderfully quaffable, I was hooked from the start. Sweet without being icky. The malt goodness caresses the tongue and slides down slickly, lingering with a bit of hops grassiness to tempt more rapid swallows to follow.

One of the best Bock beers I have enjoyed in Germany. Perfect session beer. I need to find more.

I sampled this beer at the Darmstädter City-Braustüb'l and it was on tap.

The beer came out with a good two finger thick light tan head, and the body was golden amber and quite clear.

The aromas were hard to detect, but I noticed a slight caramel/sugary aroma.

The taste was a bit caramel like, not much hops character.

This is warming to the palate and not too complicated. Makes for a good session beer.

Not that much and lasting head but beautifull dark amber/brown beercollor. Nose is good and very inviting giving a nice darkmalt arome and is very fresh with nice malty sweetness and a hint of roast. Taste is mellow with nice alcoholbite having a wonderfull darkmaltarome, good sweetness and ending nicely and very clean but moderatly bittered. Fine and very smooth mouthfeel makes drinking into a feast and IMO recomendable.
