Canned from the LCBO. Smooth and refreshing. Chinook and centennial hops provide a citrusy smell and taste. Highly recommended.

A- Pours a cloudy, yeast supended brownish copper colour with a subpar head, that starts out promising but quickly dissipates into a patchy layer and ring around the glass. Many fine columns of carbonation lumber their way to the top of the beer, and the lacing is very decent, with many strings of foam sticking to the glass!

S- Mad Tom was here! Plenty of citrus hop presence on this one.....lemon/lime/orange zest is definitely noticed! Behind this, there is a hint of balancing malt sweetness that reminds me of butterscotch, and helps to enrich the overall aroma profile!

T- There is a distinct citrusy tartness that unlike the aromas, leans towards Texas grapefruit flesh and rind! The leafy bitterness of the Centennial and Chinook takes a backseat to the refreshing nature of the flavors. The malt sweetness pokes through rather well too, and the finish lingers rather long with pine/cedar resins. It isn't an overpowering flavor either which I appreciate!

M/O- Thin/Medium bodied and very smooth carbonation keep this a fulfilling yet refreshing beer. Will go very well with a greasy meal and/or something spicy.....think fried Sichuan style noodles. Pleasantly on the milder side of the IPA spectrum, but with all of the quality and characteristics that it should embody! I would get this again for sure!

Pours a dark orange, very short lived head. Smells inviting, grapefruit and citrus on the nose. Tastes like the smell, sweet and yet also bitter. Caught a few tastes of pineapple in the finish. Leaves that bitterness on the tongue to keep you for the next sip. Very low carbonation, has a crisp bitterness that goes even with the taste

A- Pours Orange-Gold. Topped by a 1 1/2 finger head that fades away to a thin skim fairly quickly.

S- Grapefruit backed up by lots of resiny pine aromas. Pleasing and inviting.

T- Similar to the smell but a little more intense on the pine side of things. Starts of citrusy and finishes with a pine bitterness. Gives enough bitterness without being overpowering.

M- Nice and dry. Medium feel and low-medium carbonation.

O- One of the solid IPA's from Muskoka. Excellent aroma and satisfying taste. Definitely will be buying this one again.

A good friend of mine swears by Mad Tom and I completely understand why. It is a nice looking IPA. The hazy orange body and finger of foam set you up, and the faint grapefruit nose help pull you in. The flavour is crisp, dry and refreshing. There is a evergreen finish that leaves you ready for another. This is a quality brew from a solid Ontario brewery!

Purchased at the LCBO as a single. Served at 4deg C in a tulip

A- Nice pop and pour. Excellent head that does not last long as expected. Nice dark gold. Unfiltered

S- Not a lot of nose but good hops present. Nice malt

T- Pretty good malt backbone on a decent C hop base. Good little blend but would add a touch more bittering hops to bring this baby up to a solid 4.25 overall.

M- Good and dry. Nice IPA bite on the tip of the tongue

O- Nice little IPA. You can tell it's the little brother to Twice as Mad Tom. Overall a nice one that I will buy again for sure

Food Pairing

This nice little beer went well with...... Curried goat east Indian style. This nice brew cut through the heat and curry believe it or not.

Enjoy

Nose: Pronounced hop and malt aromatics battle it out to delicious effects with notes of tropical fruit, caramel, orange peel, tangerine, grapefruit and piney nuances.

Mouth: Follows on the nose with a higher protuberance of the citric aromatics and an enjoyable piney linger. Feels pretty chewy on the palate due to the lower than usual carbonation, medium to medium high bitterness and medium body. Don't love the relatively hollow palate, if i'm honest.

Tale of the tape: Outstanding aroma, so complex. It's a nice sipper as well, but it lacks some depth in the mid-palate and some oompth overall.

Pours a hazy orange. Nice full finger of head which persists.

Nose is very floral and fruity with some bread notes.

Taste is very fruity with grapefruit predominant. Well balanced.

A very enjoyable beer. Easy to drink and very refreshing.
