Inspired by late night stories around the fire, Muskoka Mad Tom will instantly grab your attention. Dry-hopped with Chinook and Centennial hops, this IPA has a vibrant aroma, depth of flavour, and crisp citrusy undertow like no other. So brace yourself, and crack one open for old Mad Tom. This is an awakening in craft beer that gets more enticing with every sip.

355ml bottle from a Muskoka Survival Pack bought from the LCBO.

A - cloudy golden orange, lots of sediment floating around in the glass. Good amount of white foam, dissipates slowly and leaves nice lacing.

S - grapefruit, pine, orange, caramel, some sweet tropical fruits.

T - similar to the smell, grapefruit, pine, orange, orange peel. Strong malt backbone, not just the caramel from ther smell but also darker malts and little bit of yeasty bread as well.

M - medium carbonation, body feels much thicker than I remember. Probably something to do with this being unfiltered now. Whatever it is this feels great going down, leaves somewhat bitter aftertaste of sweet malt, pine and grapefruit.

O - easily one of my favorite IPAs, this keeps getting better and better as my palate improves. I remember this used to be a bit strong on the bitterness and hops when I got into craft beer few years back. Now it's hard to not crack open another bottle right away.

Mad Tom IPA has decent marketing and comes from a decent craft brewery. Said to have a 62 IBU. My guess would have been in 30s. Nice colour. A 1+ finger head. Several raters go places in their reviews I did not experience. I'll have to try again.

I do really like Muskoka's Dark Ale.
