Make it a point to stop by Federal Jacks every time I'm around the area or travel between Kittery/Portland/Freeport. Excellent menu, atmosphere and views. Great spot year round, one of my personal favorites. Nice gift shop to stop through and grab a few souvenirs and fresh growler. I just wish they offered solstice ale for a longer duration.

I made two trips here on my trip through Maine. It was about a 300 yard walk from my Hotel. I had the sampler after a great Maine lobster dinner and enjoyed most all of them. The only bummer was the Brown Ale on cask, very stale and slimy. I did find the Blue Fin Stout, which is knock your d*#k in the dirt good. My girlfriend loved the Raspberry Wheat. The next day we went back for a lobster roll on the patio. With just a hint of a cool fall breeze in the air, I enjoyed a pint of Blue Fin. We hit the gift shop downstairs for some growlers, unbelievably cheap bombers to go ($1.50) and I even bought an Old Thumper ball cap. I left fat and happy, looking like a stupid tourist with my new hat on, and beer under each arm. I'm already thinking about Maine for my next summer vacation, unless some beer advocates can persuade me to go elsewhere. Missed meeting up with the world renowned JohnnyP (before he hit big with the slogan) by one day. Maybe next year.

Federal Jack's- Kennebunkport
Drove up from York into Ogunquit and then into Kennebunkport. Easy to find right off Western Ave. (rte 9)
Drove around the back, parked, and walked up the stairs. Beautful interior all wood with plenty of tables looking out the windows at the boats and docks. Pool tables on the far right side of the bar. Service was friendly and quick, my Hummus sandwich and my wife's Mozzarella salad were very good. My 2 beers; Fuggles IPA and Taint Town were delicious. 2 meals and 2 beers were $30. If I'm in this area again this will be my goto spot.
Other beers on tap; Goat Island, Export, Taint Town, Brown, Old Thumper, Fuggles IPA, Bluefin, Longfellow, Prelude.

Although a bit hard to find as it is not directly in the downtown area of Kennebunkport I still found it.I really liked this place with its view over the port and all that goes on.Very scenic and quiet. We went during lunchtime and it wasnt busy at all.We stopped at the gift shop below first to look at the ton of merchandise they sold for Shipyard,Smuttynose, and Federal Jack's.I was confused about where the actual brewpub was and was told it was upstairs. The food was great and so was the service.I think they only brewed two beers at federal jacks and the rest were Shipyards on tap.I was told Shipyard owned this restaurant.I tried the two brews that were brewed there as I have tried most of Shipyards, and were quite good, especially the raspberry wheat.Tons of Shipyard and Federal Jacks breweriana adorned the walls. The gift shop is very expensive so watch out.I will surely visit here again on my next trip to Maine.

Federal Jack's Brewpub makes for a great New England day trip, especially on a good weather day. It's dining room looks out over the Kennebunk river and has a great view. The menu is huge with diverse items and prices that range from the affordable to the expensive($24 lobster rolls). The beer is the real reason to go, and if all you ever get is a Blue Fin Stout on nitro you will still leave very happy. This sweet and roasty stout is made extra creamy by being served on a nitro tap. A very different experience from the bottled version which has a large bubble carbonation. My other favorites include the Fuggles IPA, Old Thumper, Export Ale and the new Royal IPA which is another great take on the style. Casks are tapped on a friday night so if you want it fresh that's when to get it, otherwise it will be flat and lifeless. Overall a really great place for food and drink.

Excellent selection of ales made in the brewery just downstairs. A fun selection of music and games in the back room. Solid food selections that range from traditional pub fare to family friendly favorites to big ol' boiled lobsters.
The mussles are very good as is the lobster roll and you can't go wrong with the haddock sandwich. You can watch the Sawx on TV or just sit back and watch the boats go by on the river.
This is one of the best brewpubs on the Maine Coast. The styles are bit more varied than Gritty's, but the quality of brew is just below the guys from further up the coast.

Great place, great location, uneducated crowd. What kind of brewpub serves Bud? Here's your answer. Playing pool here, I was shocked to see more bud bottles then pints. Do not be fooled .... this is a pickup bar. The beer on tap is outstanding, but most people come here to party and meet the opposite sex. I have been going here for years. The front part is a family dining area during the day, particullarly in the summer. But at night, voila! The food is standard pub food. Come and enjoy the beer, but keep in mind the atmosphere.

Pulled off I-95 for a lunch stop before heading north to Portland. Its summer tourist season, so I expected a slow trip get to the brewpub. I was right. Others stated it was hard to locate, but I saw the sign for the strip mall and headed towards the back.
Located on the second floor, it is a bright room with loads of windows overlooking the harbor. Very scenic. Outdoor seating was available but it was a bit cool so no one was there. The bar was made of light colored wood and had about 15 stools. Many people were eating lunch at tables, including lots of kids with parents.
The back room has a pool table and Soprano's pinball machine. There were 10 beers on tap - a lite, export ale, pale ale, brown, Old Thumper, Old Thumper casked conditioned, fuggles IPA, summer wheat, raspberry wheat, and stout. The few pints my wife and I had were decent. Most were drinking the Shipyard beers, but a one patron was drinking a Bud Lite.
Food was pretty good. I had the fried clams and the wife enjoyed the signature mussel dish and the clam chowder. We tried the homemade rootbeer too - very good.
The two bartenders were very friendly and conversational. We talked about Portland and we got some recommendations for good eats and drinking places. They seemed to understand the offerings at the brewpub.
We spent about 2 hours here and had a nice time. Stopped in the gift store below for a quick look. They have growlers and variety 12 packs available. Plenty of t-shirts too. This place is worth a stop if you are travelling through this lovely state. Nice and scenic.

I visited Federal Jack's Brewpub in Kennebunk, Maine in the summer which was a great time to visit because we were able to take advantage of the outdoor seating and sit outside overlooking the water of the harbor. The atmosphere was very relaxing and we had a beautiful view from our table. The inside provided a good atmosphere with extensive seating, a decent-sized bar, and lots of paraphenalia to look at while you wait for a beer.
The food was typical brewpub fare with seafood options as well. The food was moderately priced and was pretty good. The service was good despite the place being busy.
The beer selection was decent with a few shipyard beers on tap and some of the KBC's original brews as well. We split a sampler and were able to try 10 or so beer samples.
It was a nice spot to stop for lunch and enjoy beer on a summer day in Maine.
