500ml, seemingly melting-toffee soaked bottle, with Doctor Seuss-friendly copy type.

This beer pours a clear, dark red-brick amber hue, with two bulbous fingers of puffy, finely foamy, and a tad creamy ecru head, which leaves some streaky coral reef lace around the glass as it quickly blows off.

It smells of sugary caramel/toffee/treacle/butterscotch in spades, right off the bat, with some warm raisins and prune associated dark fruitiness, suggestions of bittersweet chocolate, hearty crackers, root beer, and earthy, musty, and leafy hops. The taste is more of the same - intense caramel/toffee sweetness, a strangely, um, 'balancing' bitter astringency - one mostly bready cracker, metallic hard water, and leafy hop in orientation - and more weird sarsaparilla and organic root beer earthiness.

The carbonation is on the light side, in an understated, playfully frothy manner, the body an adequate medium weight, and mostly smooth and creamy, and one might expect, until that weird, multifaceted bitterness alights upon the scene. It finishes off-dry, as the initially hale and hearty toffee pudding sweetness comes to terms with its lack of overbearing stature. Don't weep for it.

Well, this offering certainly brings the toffee, and a few of its less illustrious friends, but eventually succumbs to a not altogether pleasant, and sort of tacked-on drying binge. Yes, there is a disjointed thread running throughout, like two sides that can't seem to just their shit together and work things out. Ah well - I'm sure I would have be wanking on about the lace of balance otherwise, so, damned if you do...and so on.

I picked up two of these beers at a local beer shop; I wish I bought more.

The color was a dark brown with a dark beige head. Nice mix of big and small bubbles.

The toffee aroma comes out and grabs you by the nose hairs. It was a very enjoyable sweet character with plenty of malt in the background. The same goes with the flavor. There was definitely a lot of toffee in this beer but it didn't make it cloyingly sweet. It was just right.

I can't imagine drinking bottle after bottle of this, all night, but it's definitely worth having one or two of.

It smelled delicious, had an initial taste that was kind of bitter, then a really sweet aftertaste that was exactly like toffee. It was really weird. I wish I tasted more toffee when it was still in my mouth, the difference between that and the aftertaste was too extreme.

Pours out a dark brown, with a small head. Aroma is -- sweet. Very sweet. Like unwrapping a toffee candy, and sniffing it. Flavor is packed with toffeeness, but fortunately it's not cloyingly sweet. It's rather one-dimensional though. It's all toffee all the time. Ok, I've tried it, I can pour this out now.

(Given to me a few months ago, it's sat in my fridge ever since, until now. Very odd beer. I guess it's aimed at toffee fans)
