Poured this and compared along side an actual slice of banana bread. Poured a nice golden color with a thin head. The aroma is pretty much banana, and that's it. And sort of a fake banana smell, kind of like the runts candy banana. Same in the taste. A little malty, but just tons of banana that's not as fake as the candy, but not as real as an actual banana. Kind of thin, with nothing that really lasts. More of an interesting occasion beer than anything else.

Got 2 bottle of this one to try a banana bread recipe and one to drink. In conclusion it should be used for banana bread.

A - Light yellow in color, <1 finger white head that dissipates very quickly.

S - 99% banana, some very light malty hints.

T - Lots of banana but not overwhelming. Again very light hints of malty sweetness.

M - Medium bodied with light carbonation.

O - Worked extremely well in the recipe I had!

I had seen this around for awhile and finally broke down and bought a bottle. Pours a clean amber with a yellow tinge around the edges. The head doesn’t last long and is soon just a thin film on top. Obviously there is a aroma of banana and mild spices like nutmeg. It starts off with a mild bitterness but soon mellows out to a fine drinkable brew. Going to try this with a beer bread mix sometime.

An average pour delivered a finger of almost white head. The body is a yellow-orange color. A couple minutes and the head has dissolved to a frothy ring. A little bit of lacing noted throughout consumption.

Banana bread. Wow. I smell strong banana taffy style banana odors, lightly roasted nuts and light bready malt. It all comes together to smell like a delicious home made banana bread.

The front end tastes strongly of bananas with a hint of roasted nuts. It comes together again in the middle to taste like banana bread and ends on a slightly bitter bready note with clove to see it through.

Medium bodied, this beer travels well over the tongue, leaving nothing behind. It has a dry finish.

500 ml brown bottle bought at Market Basket in Somersworth, NH. Pours a clear medium amber color with about a half inch of off white bubbly head that dissipated within a couple minutes. Bananas and walnut immediately hit the nose with some bread, cinnamon and clove playing in the background. The scent of the bananas are the most powerful smell in the beer. The scents immediately remind me of banana nut bread. Bready malts with subtle hints of banana, walnut, and clove immediately hits the tongue. The cloves leave a spicy after taste and the bananas leave an after taste that lasts For a beer that smells overwhelmingly of bananas, the taste of the bananas are so subtle I would dare say it made me feel underwhelmed. The drink is medium bodied with light carbonation.

IMO, the beer was ok. I didn't become as excited about it after drinking it as I did when I bought it. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. I feel like it should have tasted a lot more like a toasty banana nut bread than a watered down version. I don't think I will get this beer again on my own, but if I was offered it I don't think I would turn it down.
