A - Golden color with a frothy white head that dissipates quickly.

S -The smell is dead-on banana bread with a light yeasty scent.

T - Some on this site have panned this brew, but really, what do you expect? It's kind of a novelty, a unique brew in a class of itself. The beer taste itself is fairly pedestrian, but the banana flavor is as advertised. A fun beer to drink once or twice, but not a session beer by any account.

M - Mouthful is moderate to light carbonation, with the aftertaste also moderate to light.

O - Overall the virtue in this beer is its unique quality, its "banananess" and it delivers in that sense. It was fun to drink, but not a brew for the ages.

Honey-colored and lots of carbonation, but not much of a head (though some nice, white lacing). Label says "Malt beverage brewed with bananas and banana flavor added." The smell and taste of the beer remind me not of banana bread or even mashed bananas but rather banana-flavored salt water taffy (but not nearly as sweet). A bit too watery for my taste. I was expecting something with a little more heft.

Poured into a snifter.

2.5 A: Clear, dark orange color. Only about a half finger of foamy off-white head that fell quickly, but did leave a decent amount of lacing.

4.5 S: Holy crap it smells just like banana bread, which is a wonderful treat in itself. There really isn't anything else to say. If their goal was to make a beer that smells like banana bread, then they certainly did it.

3.0 T: The taste is disappointing after the pleasant nose. Banana and breadiness are both there, but neither is as intense as I'd like. Aside from that, there isn't a lot of other things going on here. If I made a beer like this, it could be thick and bready, not thin and bland.

2.5 M: Light to lighter medium body. Carbonation is a tad bit aggressive, but reasonable. Lacking the body and creaminess that a beer like this should have.

3.0 T: It's not bad, but, aside from the nose, it does fail to live up to its name. Taste is too weak and mouthfeel is too watery to take this seriously.

A-Simple, light brown.

S-Bananas (surprise) but not too overwhelming.

T-Very pleasant, bananas up front, some malts on the back end with a sweet banana aftertaste.

M-Thin, but not too thin. I'd say it's about what i would have expected from this beer. Mild carbonation.

O-A nice change of pace, no matter what it is that you are used to drinking. More than one (they come in 16.9 oz bottles) would be too much sweetness in one night for me, but I thoroughly enjoyed what I had.

A: crystal clear, 1 finger white head, light straw to slight auburn.

S: banana bread. Wow. Spot on.

T: banana up front, some slight sweetness, malt and almost cream.

M: medium, sweet, thin but nice.

O: really tasty different beer. Promoted aptly. Really is what they say it's supposed to taste like, big banana bread flavor.

Nicely shaped 16.9 oz bottle into a pint glass.

"Malt beverage brewed with bananas and banana flavor added." That quote found on the label could also sum up my review of this beer.

A: It pours a nice golden brown. Thin head, a little lacing. Nothing too, too special although when the light hits it it looks kinda nice.

S: Bananas. Also, possibly some esters but probably just more bananas.

T: Bananas. Then some malt. But mostly bananas. No evidence of either hops or alcohol. It tastes pretty good, actually. It is sweet but not cloying. And the banana taste is decent, but it definitely tastes artificial.

M: On the thin side of medium, which is just right for this brew.

O: Not bad. Not great. I probably would have given this higher marks if that banana taste had been produced naturally either through brewing with bananas or via some kind of voodoo yeast magic. I would not be opposed to having this beer again, but I probably wouldn't seek it out.

Poured this and compared along side an actual slice of banana bread. Poured a nice golden color with a thin head. The aroma is pretty much banana, and that's it. And sort of a fake banana smell, kind of like the runts candy banana. Same in the taste. A little malty, but just tons of banana that's not as fake as the candy, but not as real as an actual banana. Kind of thin, with nothing that really lasts. More of an interesting occasion beer than anything else.
