A: Classic pitch black with a light brown head of foam. The head is resilient and fluffy and leaves and thick film on the glass.
S: Toasted malt and chocolate come through smooth and thick. There are also notes of caramel and toffee on a background of earth and leaves.
T: The malt is thick and coupled with a bittersweet chocolate presence. The malt is burnt grain, brown sugar, and caramel. There is some bitterness and that is leafy and earthy adding balance to the sweetness from the chocolate.
M: Smooth as milk chocolate with nice supporting carbonation.
O: The chocolate pairs well with the stout base. The touchstone of chocolate stouts and one that sports wonderful chocolate notes without being overly sweet.
