Sampled this beer at an Irish pub in Columbus last weekend. Haven't tried many from this style, but I though it was decent. Smell was very earthy.. could detect some hay and straw, as well as a candy-like scent. Taste was okay, a bit odd. The best was to put it was that it tasted "red" of that makes any sense. Kind of like a red-bull energy drink or something.
Overall, it was not my favorite. Not complex enough or well enough developed. Two-dimentional beer at best, but I'm sure it's a decent pick if you like this style.

Appearance: Clear, brownish-red color with two fingers of off-white head that fades with a decent curtain of lace.
Aroma: Grainy, grassy, a little nutty, cooked veggie.
Taste: Mild roasted malt flavor that is a bit nutty and astringent, some light bitterness towards the finish, then a pretty grainy finish with a little dish rag.
The Rest: Decent body and carbonation, but fairly unremarkable otherwise. It lacks a robust, appealing malt profile; this is much to grainy tasting.
Serving type: bottle
