Corked and Caged 750ml into my pint glass my bottle says Dark Reserve underneath Dark Brut
A: looks to be a dark red color lots of head

S: smells a little like a Flanders red without the bite maybe the yeast strain I'm getting hints of spice underneath but I can't pick them out

T: over the top carbonation is what you notice most prominently I know that's not a flavor but wow. Sweetness hints of spices I want to say some banana Mae I can't identify them

M: super carbonated other than that thin

O: I like it and I'm confused as to why maybe it's the pleasantly bubbly mouthfeel it's sweet and just pleasant really I bit absolutely no chocolate out of this but I'm not sure I had the same beer

This is sweet as sin, but in the Belgian way, with the bitter yeast lurking in the bushes while you frolic with the nymphs in the pond.

This is one of the creamiest beers in the mouth that I've ever had. The bubbles burst somehow as you sip, releasing that sweet liquor with a cloud of glory. Deeply fruity with some dry sherry and raisins, plus apple butter and fig jam. The chocolate business is a marketing misnomer, near as I can tell. It's aged in oak, so there is some vanilla along with a dark, deep roasted malt.

I think is what people have in mind when they exalt Belgian beers. The only explanation is that brewers from another planet paid a visit to an abbey in Belgium sometime in the Middle Ages.

From the 750 ml bottle purchased at Best Damn Beer Shop in San Diego. This should be my 100th beer style, according to BA.

Beer bottle (75 cl.) purchased from Bières & Chopes and tasted in 2013.

Appearance : dark brown color with tan foamy head.
Smell : roasted malt, wood and dark chocolate aromas.
Taste & mouthfeel : spicy, dark chocolate and wood flavors, with alcohol presence in the finish.
Drinkability : a very nice beer in the style Strong Ale (bière de Champagne)
