Appearance: Clear orange to yellow with a thin white head. The head has great retention though and makes for a nice looking beer.

Smell: There is a fluffy aroma on this beer with some spicy corriander scents and very dry whitet grape.

Taste: This beer is wonderfully complex on the palate. I taste all kinds of flavors coming out of it. There are sweet, candy like sugars supported by a nice malty flavor. The malty flavor is not big and chewy but subtle and light. There is also a perfume-like character to the beer that suggests a blend of spices. Perhaps lavender, corriander, and clove along with some dry hop bitterness holding its own in the middle of this flavor marathon. And then there is the great blend of fruit flavors that round out this well done brew. Pear, cherry, green apple, along with some black pepper and clean yeasty flavors. There is a nice finish that shows off the malts again. Very well carbonated in the direction af a champagne (though not quite there).

Mouthfeel: Wonderfully soft and clean from the great carbonation and wonderful maltiness. This beer goes down very smoothly and makes you want more.

Drinkability: This is an all around excellent beer. I really have no complaints about this beer except for it is not in my fridge at this moment. I'll have to do something about that. This is a lovely beer that I encourage everyone to try.

This beer is supposed to beer a mix between a champagne wine and regular beer, but except for the yeast flavor and the bottle type, i really didn't taste the link with a 'champagne'. It is a decent blond beer, with a very strong carbonation where the yeast flavor and smell (champagne yeast) is very dominant.

Bought at De Bierkoning in Amsterdam.

As is the style - highly carbonated, had to wait a bit for it to settle. But well worth the wait. The dry hopped flavor is really on show, bringing out a character not unlike a double IPA. Definitely recommended if you have not tried this style.

States best before "DL 109/112 B102B03". Whatever that means.

A: Pours a super cloudy gold with a lots of sediment. Enormous frothy white head. Head fades slowly, leaving a nice island behind. Spotty little thin chunks of lacing.

S: Grassy notes. Light, crackery malt. Some tart grape skin.

T: Again, grassy up front with lemons. Sharp, cracker-like malt. Has light tart components, again like a green grape skin. Not sour, just a little tart and sharp. A little honey in there. Kind of a dry, yeasty finish with a little pear, almost typical of a regular champagne. No real sign of alcohol.

M: Medium bodied, quite airy with good carbonation (of course).

O: Not a bad biere de champagne. It's surprisingly light with hidden alcohol, especially given 12% ABV. Not nearly as good as the Enlightenment Brut I had recently though, I doubt I'd get this one again. This one is a little drier and more like a typical champagne, I will say.
