Served in its glassware. Russet color with deep ruby tones. Small head cap.

Dark plum, phenols, nutty yeast, roast, dry raisin, and red grape. Delicate aromas with hidden complexity.

Dark fruity yeast esters with notes of candied plum, red grape, hard tack, and nuttiness. Note of artificial grape and raspberry jam are interesting. Great medicinal character. Some vinous notes. On the sweet side, for a quad.

Restrained booziness, wooly carbonation, full body.

Fantastic quad on-draft.

A-deep red brown color with a nice light tan head and decent lacing

S-dark fruit, toffee, spices, yeast, brown sugar

T-raisins, prunes, toffee, brown sugar, belgian spices, yeast, very fruity

F-medium to full body with mild carbonation, smooth

O-decent quad, but a little too sweet for me

Pours a very dark orange/copper. Not as bubbly as some other Belgians.
Smell is lots of dark fruit, spices.
Taste is lots of the same, exactly what you want/expect from a big fruity quadruple, but the added thing here is a spicy finish that is noticeably different from, say Rochefort or St Bernardus.
Mouthfeel: the 12% alcohol is pretty well hidden, but this is not a beer you would ever want to gulp. Its meant to be sipped.
Overall, this quad is a little different and a lot underrated. Wonderful big beer.
