Pours reddish black into a glass from a bottle. Dark fawn head is two fingers high, close, creamy, with good retention; chunky lacing left on the glass.
Aroma is creamy bakers chocolate, some mild coffee, a little roast in the back. Flavour is quite mild, slightly toasty, a little vinous with some subtle coffee bitterness, and something mineral water-like in the background.
Mouthfeel is quite thin, wet and flat; unfortunately no-where near good enough for a stout - more like a brown ale.
Wasn't very impressed with this; fine if you like Dark Milds but this - for me - isn't a stout.

500 ml brown bottle with a BB date stamp of 31 Jan 2016.
The body is essentially black and opaque, but the brew is actually clear and one can see ruby highlights in the light. The head is small and weak for style.
Feel: very smooth, near full body with very well set medium carbonation.
Appropriately mild but very satisfying flavor and aroma. Lightly sweet aroma and very mildly bitter taste. Mild aftertaste.
O: recommended. Approaches 4.25.

Served at cellar temperature into straight pint glass.
L) Opaque near-black with ruby tinge. Thin tan head.
S) Hardly anything. Hints of sweet malt, certainly no hints of roasted malt.
T) Pretty week taste, some muted roasted malt flavour, hardly any bitterness. Overall impression of cheap chocolate ice cream. Not horrible, just not... anything.
F) A bit thin, but the carbonation is right.
O) This isn't horrible, but there is absolutely no reason to buy it, it isn't as good as any other stout available in the supermarkets, including Guinness.
