650ml bomber poured into tulip 20/10/13
A light amber liquid, a stream of bubbles popping up from the center, just a fast falling finger of foam that leaves just a few random patches
S hard toffee, vanilla, nutmeg, faint pumpkin and ginger, I get lots og root beer when it warms
T more ginger in the mouth, more of a ginger beer then pumpkin, ginger bread and ginger ale, spices are still there but overwhelmed, a hand full of wet pennies as it warms
M light but well carbonated, leaves a little behind on the gums, ginger lingers
O a little to much ginger but fairly easy to drink, subtle pumpkin and spice compared to other pumpkins thins season
perhaps my last one of the year, nothing special and I grow tired of the style quickly each passing year. remind me more of a ginger beer then a pumpkin and that doesn't excite me either

Nelson Brewing 'Organic Pumpkin Ale' @ 5.0% , served from a 650 ml bottle purchased for $6.25
A-pour is a pale gold from the bottle to clear amber in the glass with a medium size off white head leaving a small spotty lace along the pint
S-pumpkin pie spices , most notably nutmeg & cinnamon
T-a tad too much clove on the intial taste leads to a dry finishing swallow , still earthy in'14 bottle version
MF-low/mild carbonation , weak medium body
Ov-ok beer , decent enough pumpkin ale that needs less clove aftertaste , still agree '14

650ml bottle.
Appearance - Pours a nut brown colour with a finger width of bubbly white head.
Smell - Pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, bready malts, burnt sugar.
Taste - Lots of autumnal spices: cinnamon, nutmeg and clove are very present. Accompanied by pumpkin, malts, and burnt sugar.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall - A pumpkin ale that pays homage to the spice portion of a pumpkin pie recipe, but not as much on the pumpkin part (pumpkin flavour is present, but not as much as the spices). Nicely balanced in regards to bitterness to sweetness ratio.

650ml bottle. Long list of ingredients here - what, the yeast isn't organic?
This beer pours a clear, medium copper amber hue, with two fingers of puffy, tightly foamy, and somewhat creamy eggshell white head, which leaves a bit of roiling sea lace around the glass as it evenly seeps away.
It smells of bready caramel malt, metallic cinnamon, allspice, earthy ginger, spicy nutmeg, baked pumpkin flesh, and very subtle weedy, leafy hops. The taste is rather gingerbread-esque, with the caramel malt absorbing much of the ginger, clove, cinnamon, and nutmeg into one big watery cookie of an experience - the hops shaking it off to provide a sense of actual beerdom, that is, until the vegetal gourd notes come round full circle on my palate.
The carbonation is fairly tame, lending just a gentle frothiness to the proceedings, the body an adequate medium weight, rather smooth, and duly creamy. It finishes well off-dry, the spiced bready caramel malt still holding the upper hand, while and pumpkin and hops play a distant second fiddle.
More of a winter warmer or spiced ale, than a straight-up pumpkin ale, what with the titular guest ingredient so remaindered to a background role. Tasty all the same though, the spices breaking through my well-earned bias towards organic ales, to provide evidence of proficiency in that particular farming tactic. Just don't go in expecting pumpkin pie here.
