Pours a clear gold with a lot of white head. Massive lacing on the way down. Nose is sweet and thick...just like I love the Belgians to be. So far, the signs point to a good experience. Flavor is oh so smooth. Sweet and even, it almost seems to have a slight nutty edge to it - or maybe it is wood-like. Very slight at that, whichever it may be. Standard sweet and citrus aspects to it, but this isn’t just a standard brew. This one is well crafted and extremely smooth. Feel is great. Good levels of carbonation. Drinkability? If this were readily available to me (I brought it back from a trip), I’d be drinking this all the time.

Poured into a Gulden Draak tulip. Pours a medium orange tinted gold amber with a three finger white head that slowly dissipates to a thick layer that persists. Aroma of bready malt, Belgian yeast and light stone fruits. Flavor is dominated by stone fruit; peaches and apricots with light apple, Belgian yeast and hints of citrus and grapes. Finishing slightly drier with a hint of hops. Medium bodied. A pleasant Belgian pale ale with slightly more complexity than I expected. I have rarely seen this on the market, but would certainly buy it again.

The label is one of the weirdest I've come across. A beer bottle named Sloeber showing me the name on my beer bottle which is also Sloeber. Maybe it was a good concept but the final result looks quite amateur-ish if you ask me. So what do we have here? A belgian strong pale ale, that pours a white thin head of one finger, in my Chimay chalice. Colour is, well, pale golden. I can witness a thin fountain of bubbles rising from the center of my glass to the top.
Aroma is light and pleasant, fruity, sure, but I can't put my nose into it exactly. One time I think I smell bananas, the next I smell plums. Whatever it is, is very faint though.
Taste is fruity, with some plums and other dark fruits, but there is unfortunately a slight metallic aftertaste.
Full and thick on the bodybody, with just the right amount of carbonation.
Overall, a very good sample of the kind.

exp Feb 2013
A: Transparent with just a wisp of yeast looping around the surface. Apple juice in color with just a few bubbles of rising carbonation, no head.
S: a bit sweet and musty malt, implied apple vinegar,
T: a hair metalic and tart, mild bitterness, sort of white wine like. Not so apparent alcohol. Adds a sort of density to the flavor. Bitterness right on the end. Kind of neutral flavor.
M: Mild carbonation sting, lightish body.
O: Decent. Kind of plain but nothing I would consider bad.

330ml bottle.

A- Pours a clear golden color with a huge white foam head that leaves good lacing.

S- Some Belgian spice and light fruits in the aroma.

T- Similar to the nose with some fruit esters coming through in the finish. Very well hidden alcohol.

M- medium bodied with high carbonation.

O- Solid Belgian pale with an easy finish.

fluffy meringue sticky atomized marshmallow head...a veritable mushroom cloud good looks! cloudy pale straw held to light. really beautiful to behold. some great beers don't look so good. this one so far is amazing. after 5 minutes, a near complete sheet of sticky lacing surrounding this tulip. an easy 5.

nose is right on for the style...as good as Duvel...spicy yeasty blast. fresh straw with alot Sloeber spilled on it.

ok, a little 'sweeter' and tangy than Duvel. slight ever so slight metallic note in the finish. second sip, no more. this is really good! somewhat 'tighter' balance than Duvel. creamy, luscious mouthfeel only makes this more stellar. overall, nearly perfect. really. i'll take this over Duvel...close, but this has something extra in all departments to easily edge the classic. highly recommended.
