Pours a hazy orange-ish color with a small white head. In the aroma, sweet grapefruit. In the taste, a small sweetness and pure grapefruit juice. A small bite and a lighter to medium bodied mouthfeel, with a dryer sweet to tart grapefruit presence in the aftertaste. Sweet to tart grapefruit is nice, one would be refreshing, two would be too much.

This is a German radler. The label says this is a krystalweizen that has grapefruit flavor added to it.

The beer pours an orange color with a white head. The aroma is strong grapefruit. Not the grapefruit you get in a hoppy IPA, grapefruit like you eat at breakfast. The flavor is more of the same. There is no alcohol, hops or malt present in the taste, but the label says all three things are in the beer. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. It is very drinkable because I like grapefruit. This tastes more like a soda than a beer.

LOOK: A bright orange colored brew pours from the pull tap capped bottle. Decent clarity but there is some sediment in the bottle.

SMELL: Bright citrus, grapefruit and orange, with some malt in the background.

TASTE: Enjoyable flavors of grapefruit juice, orange syrup, malt and a hint of bitters. Tangy and fruity, as the bottle suggests, this is quite a refreshing, citrus tinged beer. Wheat malt adds to flavor, and really helps to carry the citrus and broaden the profile.

FEEL: Light bodied, crisp and well carbonated beer. Drinks very easily and is downed quickly without much thought or effort.

OVERALL: This imported shandy does a pretty good job at delivering a refreshing experience. Has big citrus, wheat malt, and a light tang that makes it interesting. A nice beer to review before noon. Breakfast beer.

A: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had a bright orange color and a slightly hazy consistency. There was an inch of foamy, fairly long-lasting head. Not a whole lot of lacing.

S: A super-fruity aroma, mainly grapefruit. Very sweet-smelling.

T: The grapefruit taste dominated the flavor, but there was a bit of malt in the finish. Not a complex flavor, to be sure, but is very zesty and sharp.

M: A highly carbonated beer with a slightly slick finish. Light-bodied.

D: This is one of those beers that has no business being as likable as it is. Drinkable.

Appearance: Orange Fanta (TM)

Aroma: Grapefruit Lemon Pledge (TM)

Flavor: Actually not as artificial as the look and smell would have you suspect. Mild lemon tartness, balanced fairly well with a the semi-sweet grapefruit.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light bodied.

Sampled last night on 9/21/15. Comes in a 11.2 ounce (330ml) bottle with a pull-off metal cap. Bottle chilled down to 36 degrees F in my beer cooler and poured in to a pint glass.

brew pours a reddish-orange in color with no head to speak of. Same with the lacing, nothing actually. Aroma is of some citrus zest and light malts. Pretty much is said for the taste. Very light with a slightly clean fresh finish. Lighter-bodied with perfect carbonation. Overall, a great summer brew that goes down fast and easy.

Grapefruit on nose, nice clean grapefruit.
A touch of grapefruit at first, then I get orange soda. Nice carbonation, not too much sugar, really refreshing. Not bad at all, especially for a really hot day. I also dig the grenade top. All in all, a well-made radler. I could drink this all the time but probably won't because of the lower alcohol percentage. This is a nice one to have around, and I probably will drink it again.

Pours a light red-orange color with decent haze. The base beer is supposed to be a kristalweizen, so the grapefruit flavoring/syrup must be the reason for the haze. There was a simple little 3/4" of foam that sat atop the beer for maybe thirty seconds, but it dies down very quickly.

Smells like sweetened pink grapefruit. Almost exactly. Maybe even like a grapefruit candy or gummi. There's a backdrop of the German wheat beer in the nose, too. Notes of breadiness, lemon, and fruity yeast are small, but evident. Pretty much one-note, but I do love the smell of that grapefruit.

Very tangy. A lot of grapefruit upfront with noticeable sweetness, but it mixes with a decently bready weizen beer below. Lemony, too. Has a punchy maltiness that I like. Never gets too sweet. Never pulls too far away from the wheat beer. Hard to say if the original kristalweizen was well-made, but the combo is great. It does have a slightly musty finish, however. At under 3%, this is all flavor anyways.

It's spritzy and refreshing. Not too sweet, but close. Extremely low alcohol makes it a moot point. Drinkability is very high. Carbonation is higher-tier, of course. Body isn't completely at zero. Has a light, semi-sugary vibe.

Nothing like those American Shandies. This is a true German Radler, and I enjoy it.
