Trends may come and go, but classics transcend time and space. And Doggie Style is certainly a classic. The standard in pale ales, this beautiful amber liquid perfectly balances Northern Brewer, Cascade, Simcoe, and Citra hops, then melds them together with Carastan malts to create an incredibly satisfying beer-flavored beer that tastes like beer. Next time you’re in the mood to get down and dirty with some sauce-heavy Chinese or BBQ, crack one open and make it a Doggie Style kind of night.

Bright tawny amber with an impressive head retention, stellar stickage and the foam takes forever to subside. Hell the lace holds to the glass almost all the way down!
Aromatic mix of citrusy hop and buttery diacetyl. More hop in the nose though and fresh at that, this is obvious dry-hopping if you have never had a dry hopped beer before.
Moderate body with a well structured mouth feel. Mouthful of cascade hops, not all bitterness just a heavy hand of citrusy flavour. Bitterness is there and quite ample. Maltiness is underneath with a base of sweet grain that more or less gets clouded out by the fresh hop flavour. Puckering dry finish.
This is perhaps my favourite of the Flying Dog brand and definitely a beer I will be trying to have in the fridge for a nice hop fix here and there.

Had this on tap. Clear golden pour, small foamy white head. Hops just right, not overbearing. Halfway between a lager and an IPA, ithit the mark for me.

Clear amber appearance with a large off white head and very good lacing, Notes of pine, citrus and floral hops compete in the aroma. Restrained malt profile blends and balances all those hop flavors quite well. Smooth, clean finish. Medium-to-light bodied, moderately carbonated mouthfeel. 'Classic' is an understatement. Hope they keep brewing this one for at least another +20 years.

12 ounce bottle in a pint glass.
Copper amber in color, see through. Off white cap, 1f, decent lacing.
Subdued aromas. Dank earthy malt, a hint of citrus.
Malt forward, grainy. Sweet caramel. Light citrus.
Easy drinking medium body. Mild hop tang.
A bit short on aroma but otherwise a good food pairing pale ale, as promised.

12 ounce bottle poured into a tulip glass. Best by date of 5/28/21, so only a couple of days late.
L---Crystal clear, rich Amber color. Frothy white head had good retention and left good lacing.
S---Hoppy. Some grapefruit & lemon.
T---Some grain & grapefruit. Fairly mild.
F---Good carbonation. Medium bodied.
O---A good, not great beer. I'll have another if you're buying.

Bottle foamed over when it was opened. Had been in fridge since getting it as a Christmas gift. Pours a copper color with a minimal head that lasts quite a while. No discernable aroma. Taste is hops without the bitterness. Slightly spicy. Not a bad beer after I got the overflow cleaned up.

Pours a clear copper amber with a one finger head. Smell is mostly citrus with a candy sweetness as well. Taste follows with grapefruit and malts. Not hoppy at all which I appreciate. Light to medium fizz makes it an easy drinker.
