This was a solid all-round pale ale. Had a good, hoppy nose while the flavor was a solid hop-malt combo and didn't have a strong bitter aftertaste at all. The mouthfeel was a solid body. This was a delicious pale and was very drinkable. Had mine with tacos and it was a great combo!

Bottle from Harvest Market
Pours a brilliantly clear medium golden color with a huge bubbly off white head that persists forever. Aromas of earth and caramel and little else. The favor is sweet with bready caramel malt and hints of earthy hop to balance. Medium body with a moderate to high level of carbonation and a slick sweet mouthfeel. Decent brew, drinkable, maybe a lawnmower beer, nothing horribly exciting and no bottle dating.

Poured from the bottle to a pint glass.

Appearance- beautiful amber color with a slight hue of red.

Smell- wonderful smell hops that is not overly done.

Taste- at first the taste is almost non existent but then not even a second later a wave of hops (that is not over baring and wonderful for a pale ale) roles over the tounge.

Mouthfeel- a look little more carbonated than you would expect from such a great brewery but none the less it still feels right.

Overall, this beer is a perfect example of what a good pale ale should be. Well worth the 11 bucks for a 6 pack.

Cheers!

A - Slightly hazy dark gold/amber. Fluffy white head. Leaves nice, tight rings for lacing.

S - Earthy, herbal hops. Dough-like malt.

T - Well-balanced. Grassy, earthy hops offset with caramel, toasted malts. Bitterness ends the taste.

M - Medium to slightly heavy for a Pale Ale. Same with the carbonation. Coats the mouth and tongue.

O - First time I've had anything from Flying Dog. I don't know why I always overlook them. Anyway, this is a fine pale ale. Glad to have tried and I will seek out others from this brewery.

A- gold, copper, amber hue. Semi- clear/cloudy (even 20 min. after pouring into tulip). Decent vanilla white head, disappeared quickly but left a healthy foam lace that remained for a good bit.

S- nothing that jumped out immediately/obviously. Faint lemon and grass notes.

T- very light, lemony, grass taste. Nothing to strongly praise or pan. Will be helped greatly if accompanying food/meal.

M- light (to medium, at most). No strong/obvious impressions, otherwise.

O- this beer? So so. Most of the stuff I drink, that I don't love, would still far outweigh the mass produced crap. In here, compared to the better stuff, I'd leave this one alone. But, don't ignore the rest of Flying Dog's offerings. This is a strong producer of excellent craft beers (i.e. Raging Bitch Belgian IPA, Gonzo Imperial Porter, Pearl Necklace Oyster Stout, In Heat Wheat). And, an outstanding experience if you visit the brewery for a tour followed by the post tour visit to the tasting room. Go!

Cheers all!
