This pours rich deep amber, leaving a bit of a head which dissipates to a ring fairly quickly.
Smell is sweet, with some malts, hops, and a bit of spice of some sort (cinnamon like, but it isn't).
Taste is a bit steel-like (is this oxidized?) I pick up a bit of hops, with a sharp bitterness.
Mouthfeel is somewhat coarse and wet.
Finish is a bit bitter, almost pepperey.
This isn't a bad ale, I just look for a bit more character and a bit less sharp bitterness (I am NOT referring to a hoppy bitterness - that would be expected).
