Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into an English pint glass.
A: Like dark apple juice, a deep reddish-crystal-brown. 1/2" head sticks around, leaving a bit of lacing as I sip.
S: Lots of citrus (orange and lemon), fresh baked bread, and a hint of pine tar. Really well-balanced and appetizing.
T: Tart pine and multi-citrus start gives way to hints of malt sweetness poking through. Finishes dry and sweeter, with some mysterious berry-like character I couldn't define. Great flavors, great progression; really well-crafted.
M: Light, effervescent without being overly carbonated. It was very refreshing and tickled rather than manhandled the palate.
D: I could session this one, easy. Like many good Marzens, it's easy to drink quickly and plentifully. One of the most easy-drinking, enjoyable beers I've tried. Even my generally anti-beer fiancee loved it for its great fruit notes and mild, but present, hop bitterness.
