Pours out bright amber and sits a deep ruby amber in the glass with a large creamy, light tan head. Absolutely pristine and radiant, marvelous gradient from golds on up. Head fades to a light skim, nice lacings around the glass.
Smells lightly toasty with a firm grassy hop presence, pushing out some spiciness. Malts come across crackery and blend quite well. Not an delightful aroma, but not bad either.
Tastes malty up front with mild sweetness. Bold, firm malt strength pushes out a well-rounded array of toasty, caramel dunked flavors. Hops approach in from the sides tinging flavors with grassy qualities, rather sharp on the tongue. Finish is mildly bitter, clean and expected.
Smooth and creamy all over, crisp and fine carbonation is well-matched. Medium body to cover all courses.
It's not a bad O-fest, just not great. Hops character seems a bit off to me, and the nose leaves much to be desired. Body is best, enjoy it as much as you can.
