A clear, yellow-red IPA with a moderate white head. The smell is hopppppppy and grapefruitlike. This IPA has a quick taste of malt in the begginning, is bitter in the middle, and has a cedarlike bitterness to its end. The texture is firm in my mouth. Overall, the bitterness of this IPA is still a bit bitter for me. I did note, while tasting this beer, that I think it is the cedary taste I don't care for that much in some IPA's, but that I am liking it a bit more.
All of the Flying Dog labels I find interesting with their ink blot, splattered, crayon, scratched drawings and designs; and this "pick of the litter" is no exception, the neck of the dog on the label takes on a snake-like appearance and I am waiting to hear a sound like "ackk...buuurp...pfwhlatt...woof".

Amber color with a thick off-white head with medium retention and leaving laces.
Relatively light aroma of bread malt, subdue lemon citrusy.
Flavor is much more interesting. Notes of tea bags, orange peel, pine, lime, grapefruit, one notch more intense American yeast, some grass and flowers and a bit of papaya. Very dry aftertaste with a long lasting bitterness.
Light to medium body with perfect carbonation of tiny bubbles. I would never guess this is 7.1% abv.
Interesting that this IPA increases its bitterness throughout the degustation as opposed to otherwise. Felt to me as underrated, probably this is fresher than average and people get very picky in the US with so many good IPAs.
