Bottle was from a 6pk purchased at Wegmans in Warrington, PA
Poured and sampled from a DFH Pint Glass
A - Beer pours a reddish/copper color. Slightly hazy. An aggressive, foamy two finger head on the initial pour that gradually fades. Moderate lacing left on the glass.
S - Not a very impressive aroma. More of a sweet, malty smell as opposed to a hoppy, citrusy aroma that I normally associate with an IPA. Not off-putting but not quite spot on for an IPA.
T - For what it is, the taste isn't bad. But it's more of a pale ale taste than a true hoppy, citrusy, piney IPA taste. A caramel-like maltiness is dominate. The hops are there and the familiar grapefruit/citrus taste is there but no where near what is commonly found in other IPA's. There is a mild bitterness also. The ABV isn't noticeable.
M - Thin consistency. Mild carbonation.
O - The beer itself isn't bad. The taste isn't horrible nor is it a beer I'd never drink again. It's just not what I'm looking for when I purchase an IPA. There are much better examples of American IPAs out there.
