Poured into an over-sized Sacred Heart High School glass mug.
A: Poured a deep, ruby amber color with a creamy one-finger head which left a nice lace in its wake.
S: Smells sweet, fruity, and alcoholic. A fairly typical American IPA odor, but probably just smelled better because of the anticipation of enjoying another Flying Dog brew.
T: Taste is like a sweet wave of caramel malts and bitter, floral hops; and then, nothingness. The taste washes away almost completely. This might be great for some, but I like my hops to linger. Makes for great drinkability, though.
M: Mouthfeel is light-medium bodied with a sharp hop bite and smooth, creamy maltiness. Great balance and flavor retention.
D: Not too heavy, nice ABV; a great party-starter.
Overall, not the greatest American IPA I've had, but certainly not the worst. Newcomers to the style would be wise to check it out' not too intense and well-balanced enough for all to enjoy.

On tap at BWI airport
Served into a pint glass
A: copper with one fingers width of white colored head; head has decent retention and leaves lots of lacing
S: citrus rind, floral hops, faint tropical fruits
T: big bitterness with piney hops, citrus and subtle tropical fruits, malts to balance it out; nice hop profile
M/D: full bodied, appropriate carbonation, drinkability is good
O: well done IPA
Serving type: on-tap

12 oz. can poured into a Flying Dog goblet (no dating)
A: Nice copper body with nice head that recedes rapidly but leaves some lacing and a nice collar.
S: Sweet malt/pine with a great overall hop presence.
T: Light in body but with a solid malt and hop balance that is refreshing and easy-drinking.
M: Small rough bubble carbonation along the tongue.
O: This is great coming out of the can, which helps preserve the hops from the light. I'd rather buy an old IPA in a can over one in a bottle (or at least one with no date). Good enough, but they have better IPAs and beers that I would go after first.
