Pale amber color, fairly clear but a slight haze (from hops?). Pours a biggish white head, somewhat coarse but long lasting.
Somewhat biscuity malt aroma, and smells a bit like a DIPA. Some earthy/piney hop aromas, but fairly gentle.
Interesting malt flavor up front, somewhat sweet and a bit biscuity in keeping with the aroma. Hop bitterness lingers just beneath the surface, and grows to come out strong in the finish. Finish has a lingering but pleasant hop bitterness.
Medium body, a moderate carbonation. No astringency, and only the slightest hint of alcohol warming.
Front end is a little different than the typical American IPA, but the hop bitterness on the back end hits the mark perfectly. Decisively bitter without being a complete hop bomb.
