A - Clear, darker orange color. White head fades to a thick film. A few thin sheets of lacing.
S - Lots of sweet sugary cereal malts with some lightly piny bitter hops. Smells like some good ambers I've had.
T - Tastes like an amber too. Starts out with sharp bitterness and carbonation with a pronounced cereal maltiness. Flavors intensify a bit, green tasting bitterness with brown sugary malts. Finish leaves a light summary of all the flavors.
M - Medium to light consistency with elevated carbonation.
D - This is actually pretty good. Not a very hoppy IPA but maybe I got an old bottle. I will have this again.

Good looking beer pours clear and gold with a huge frothy three finger high head. The retention is excellent. The head is a bit sticky and leaves minimal foam on the glass.
Husky and grainy, sweet bread with a bit of syrup sweetness. Fruity esters of red berry and plum. Hops are rather light, a bit of pine, citrus and medicinal herbs.
Raw and husky grain with white bread and caramel sweetness, some cream and buttery muddling in there. Hops are also light pine and red berries and under ripe citrus. Finishes with yeast and watery grains, a bit of medicinal herbs and citrus.
Medium bodied with average carbonation. Easy drinking but watery in flavor, raw grainy to finish, Alcohol is muted.
Not the greatest IPA, malts need to be tightened up and the hops are equivalent to a pale ale at best. Still not overly off putting just...lacking.

I first had Flying Dog out in Colorado.Liked it then.Like it now....I quit drinkin' it for awhile...Started back into it a couple years ago about the time that i was still drinking Guinness almost exclusively...flying dog got me back in the beer world again and not remaining stagnant with my tastes...but now that the beer culture has exploded,i see they are not the best (still one of the best, though) & i will remain loyal because they are consistent & this beer in particular is one main reason for this...i also dig their innovation/artwork and good deeds w/beer like the "pearl necklace"A Great beer for a great charity...Of course,Ralph Steadman & the Hunter S.Thompson connection will always be a BIG gonzo factor here as well...cheers!
Appearance: clear orange/golden /off white head that dissipates a little on the quick side.
Smell: citrusy/earthy hops aroma .
Taste: Hops no doubt. Fruity taste,Grasy flavors, big citrus. Excellent.
Mouthfeel: Medium to light . Carbonation high though.
Drinkability: One of the best I've had in this style. Original taste/drinkability is Flying dog!
I still do think this is one of the better IPA's out there.
