Pours a dark brown body that is just clear enough to let through a few ruby red highlights. Capped with a light off-white head that doesn't hold on too long but leaves a small amount of lace behind.
Malty sweet with notes of caramel and toffee. Not much from the dark and roasted side of the porter spectrum. Slight hint of floral hop character.
Slightly fruity and plenty of malty sweetness on the palate. Little hints of chocolate in there as well and a slightly hoppy finish. More of a brown porter than a robust porter but certainly not bad.
Mouthfeel is rather light and bubbly. Overall, I prefer my porters to pack a bit more punch but Road Dog was nice to have for a change of pace from my usual.
