Those brown and dark red colors. Off white head 1/2". A lot more roast in the nose than I saw coming.
Taste, still more roast, coffee from the malt flavors. Nutty, caramel, toffee, coffee. Hopping is there too. A little dry finish. Not bad stuff. Assertive and bitter with all that other stuff going on. There's a bit of a scotch ale vibe going on underneath it all as well.

aroma is mainly vanilla accompanied by some toffee, smoked malts, dark chocolate and espresso beans. Appears black with a magenta hue and thin white foam. Taste is mildly dry with bitter black coffee overtones, assertive toffee, creamy nougat, dry chocolate and some faint hop bitterness. Overall, pretty well rounded and different porter. Very dry all around with some alcohol coming through as it warms.
