Poured from a 12-ounce bottle into a SA pint glass.
A: Pours a murky, golden yellow. Swirled beer in bottom of the bottle just to collect and lingering wheat and yeast. White, foamy head dissipates quickly, but laces all the way down.
S: Smell is a Hefe banana with crisp spice and alcohol notes. No bitter hops in the nose, but sweet malts are present. Quite pleasant.
T: Washes down a very refreshing blend of citrus, sweet malt and some very slight bitter, herby hops.
M: Mouthfeel is thin, crisp and refreshing, just what you'd want and expect from a good American Pale Wheat.
D: You'd have to either be in the mood, or be hanging outside on a hot day to down a bunch of these. Otherwise, the nice flavor and refreshing body would be welcome any time.
A solid addition to the Flying Dog pack. This American take on the Hefe is a nice mix between German brewing and American innovation. Would get again and recommend.
