I could beat my meat while knockin down In Heat, and the finish would be sweet, from its weak ass head to its tasty feet of malted wheat. Lil bit light, so too many could make me piss my sheet, but fuller than I expected so with the dog again I will meet. A bit untypical, so indeed a treat, almost 6% ABV so the brew keeps me in my seat. To an unexperienced craft enthusiast, this beer makes a perfect greet, to the experienced drinker...milk from the tasty teet.

I didn't know what to expect as I poured my first Flying Dog brew into my glass. I was too busy inspecting the unique artwork on the label that I didn't even notice the great color and head of the beer until a minute later. The beer has a great golden color that looks very refreshing on a hot summer day. The sweet orange smell was inviting and enticing. At first sip I knew this a well-done brew. A sweet taste that isn't too overpowering, it is more like a subtle notes of fruit behind a lightly carbonated soda. The taste is not as thick or creamy as other wheat beers I have tried but that isn't a negative aspect if you are looking for a light summer beer. A very mild aftertaste follows each gulp leaving you to keep taking sips so you don't forget what it tastes like. This beer doesn't show too much skin; it rather leave you "in-heat" leaving some to the imagination.

Nice thick cloudy yellowish gold color. Rich foamy head. Scents of bananas and oranges and some cloves. Good wheat beer taste. Tastes like a wheat should. Yeasty kind of banana flavor with no bitterness and a sweet type of aftertaste. Feels rich and thick yet easy to drink. Also, my bottle says 4.7% ALC/VOL. Not 5.96%. Was the recipe changed or something or is somebody wrong here?

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a deep yellow color, with a thin white head that fades very quickly and leaves very little lace on the glass.

S: The aroma is of wheat, bananas, light malt, some citrus and a touch of hops.

T: The taste is bready sweet and spicy up front with flavors of wheat, banana and citrus that dominate. There's a mild hops presence that provides some balance. The after-taste is slightly bready and slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and smooth, light-to-medium body, medium carbonation, clean finish.

D: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, decent kick, good representation of style, this is a pretty decent lighter beer to drink for a long time if you're in the mood for a just regular wheat beer.

Pours a cloudy yelow/ orange-ish color with a big white head. In the aroma, Banana and cloves. In the taste, dry banana, clove, and an array of spices. A small bite, mainly smooth, and a light bodied mouthfeel, with a dry to clean banana and spice aftertaste. A really nice wheat, less focused of the citrus, and dryer than standard.

12 oz. bottle,

A: Pours a cloudy golden orange, with a small white head, fair retention.

S: Nice estery smell, bananas and cloves, pasta.

T: Finally an American wheat that calls itself a hefe and actually tastes like one. Bubblegum esters make up the bulk of the flavour with a nice clovely finish. Simple, but effective.

M: Light and spritzy, creamy, lightly oily in the mouth.

D: Quite a good American wheat, definitely above average for its style. Recommended as a hot summer day beer and a quick refresher.

Poured into a pint glass from a 12oz bottle.

A - The beer pours a medium hazy straw, forming a 1 inch white head, leaving light spots of lace on the glass.

S - Lemon and wheat malt aroma dominate the nose. Light and simple.

T - Nice fruity lemon flavor, along with a medium wheat malt thickness. Simple but full in flavor.

M - Light and clean. Very smooth finish with just the right amount of carbonation.

D - Very full flavor and good alcohol level. A highly sessionable wheat ale. I thought this would be another flavorless wheat ale, but this really had a nice full flavor to it. Highly recommended.

Has a relatively creamy head that hangs around for a while; pour it with a huge head and it will release a complicated aroma of lemon, banana, clove and straw. Color is dense yellow with plenty of carbonation, and the taste is very sparkly with the expected fruit, as above. Lots of spice, too; not so bitter. Feels a bit slippery in the mouth and leaves behind a nice tang. A decent wheat beer that's worth repeating.

Poured into a conical pint. Poured a very murky golden color with a very large head that dissappeared as quick as it poured. Left a nice small sheet on the surface though.

Smells sour with some definite yeast and maybe a hint of pineapple. Smelled clean.

Tasted very tart and citrusy. Could definitely taste the yeast and wheat on this one. I don't know; there was no freshness date on this one. It tasted like it had gone bad. I may have to try this again and re-review, but this one was awful.

Overall, not a style I'm all that crazy about, but especially this one. I'll give it another shot, but my expectations have sunk to a low.

Thick, creamy golden tan color, with a large head that disipates quickly and then completely disappears. No lacing.

Smells strongly of citrus and yeast. Pretty nice.

Taste is of citrus, and a bit of banana, and it leaves a smooth, somehow metallic finish. Very nice.

Mouthfeel is alright, typical excited tingles of a Hefe.

Aside from the lackluster appearance, a surprisingly good little wheat beer.

12oz bottle poored into a pilsner glass.

Poors a cloudy golden orange tinted yellow. Small quickly receiding white head. Smells like bannana maby a hint of lemon and spice and of course plenty of wheat malt. I could make out the fruity/spiceyness right away and then a nice malt sweetness with some bitterness to the finish. Had a faily light refreshing feel to it and was drinkable. Overall decent summer wheat beer.

Poured into a pint glass from a bottle. Pours a dark yellow color, very cloudy. Made a decent sized head but quickly was gone, not leaving much behind at all. The smell of this brew is spicy, and some fruits. I wanna say lemon or other bitter smelling fruits. Taste is quite like it smells very spicy and citrus, I didnt taste much hops in this one at all. Very carboniated.

Overall it was cool to try but I could not see myself drinking more then 1 of these at a time. I will say it tastes very very diffrent then the other beers I have been trying lately. From all the reviews from Flying Dog pretty good I expected a bit more from this one.

This is a great wheat. Has a slight citrus and spicy scent.

Cloudy golden color.

The flavor and feel when it first hits your mouth is smooth wheat feel and taste that heavily intensifies to a spicy and citrusy crisp flavor that stays in your mouth well after. Overall: good flavor and nice mixture of different flavors.

12-ounce bottle adorned with wacky Steadman art, poured into a weizen glass yields a hazy orange-gold body capped with a finger of off-white milky foam that reduces quickly to a sheet, leaving minimal lacing.

Smell is tangy with citrus notes and a solid earthy wheat presence; some spices tickle the nose.

Taste is led by a nice citrusy tang; a zippy lemon-lime and a touch of bitter orange ride atop a mellow wheat backbone that starts small, but grows breadier, huskier and more substantial as the drink warms a little.

The light body is augmented by crisp flavors with light carbonation that contribute to making this beer refreshing and superbly drinkable.

A - Pours a cloudy dark yellow. Moderate, quick dropping head.

S - Wheaty sort of aroma. Spicy, light banana, earthy tones.

T - Fairly buttery, with a sweetish backbone. Wheaty twang is there, and some very mild hop bitterness. A little lemon comes through as well.

M - Lightish with a moderate carbonation.

D - Certainly very drinkable, but doesn't have a whole lot of flavour.

Pours a bright amber, almost orange with a really light cream colored head that leaves nice amount of rings along the glass.
Now the taste. Nothing really jumps out at me, just a slight citrus and some minor malty sweetness. Its not a bad beer, but not an extraordinary offering from Flying Dog either.

Golden dog urine with a slim head of fine bubbles in white.

Light scents of citrus, pre-ripe bananas, and wheat, with some grassy hops.

The light body is fairly smooth and creamy with a modest amount of fine carbonation that feels quite nice. Flavors of lightly sour lemons and green bananas. Light wheat leaves it pretty creamy, with some light hops that come in earthy-grassy and lightly spicy.

It's not bad. That said, it's not good either. It's a decent attempt at a hefe that adventurous light beer drinkers may turn to for some flavor.

A pretty decent wheat beer. Had this one from their sampler. The appearance has a hazy, golden appearance with a really thick, one inch about, head that laces away eventually. Aromas are somewhat strong but could have been more apparent. Definitely sensed basics like wheat, citrus, grainy, etc. The taste however had a dash of honey mixed with a more general fruit taste supplementing those above smells. The body is basic, not too carbonated but not flat. Just a low-medium body. Like I said, a decent wheat ale.

Poured from a bottle into a snifter

A-Pretty clear for a wheat its a bit cloudy but oddly transparent for a wheat.

S-Avarage wheat here hints of citrus with grain and oat notes as well as hops

T-Spicy wheat cirus as well as some grain come through in the finish

M-Smooth easy to drink good carbonation level

D-being that its nice and smooth easy to drink wheat one i may grab again if the mood strikes

This is a nice wheat beer. Hazy straw color, big fizzy white head, some lacing. Smell has all the wheat beer necessities...astringent, lemon, bubble gum, wheat smoothness. Tastes better than it smells. Nice tart wheat beer taste, maybe not as pronounced as the best German wheat beers but this is not some watery substitute either.

Mouthfeel is ok, crisp and tart with high carbonation up front. Drinkability is good as well. This could easily be a summertime favorite.

Appearance - Cloudy, what a wheat beer should be. Head is ok but just like any other Flying dog dissipates within seconds.

Smell - Floral. Very citrus smelling as well.

Taste - MMM MMM Good. Very nice wheat beer. Good wheat taste with a nice aftertaste as well.

Mouthfeel - Explosion on flowered citrus. If there is even such a thing.

Drinkablity - Very Very easy to drink. If you like wheat beer make sure you try this one. Of course it doesn't rival it's German counterparts but still very good for the money.

12 oz. bottle, code reads 176FX08. Pours a cloudy golden color. Fair sized white rocky head disappears a bit too quickly for the style.

Aroma is full of clove, some banana, and a bit of other fruit. Maybe a bit floral in the end. Pretty nice, and seems to be on par for the hefeweizen style.

A bit of wheat tartness. A bit too much sweetness. Some nice juicy fruit flavors which turn to banana in the middle. Slight floral bitterness at the end. Good balance.

Thin mouthfeel. This needs a bit more carbonation to pull things through. Not spritzy like the German ones. Other than that, I can't really knock this beer. I remember having this one a while back and not liking it very much, but now seems to fit into the hefeweizen category well. Pretty easy to drink and refreshing.

This beer was a little disappointing for a wheat. The wheat catagory finds in way into my fridge often this time of year and trying new ones always is fun. This wheat however is a bit too hopped for my tastes and covers up the subtle flavors wheat beers contain.

A- Clear, light, golden

S- Very floral, light notes of grain

T- Strong bitter hops, light, crisp, dry

M- Clean and dry

D - Moderate, would pair well with fruit

Poured a hazy yellow with a white head that settles disappointingly quickly into a thin, but tight layer. Clove esters & wheat tartness in aroma; banana esters are completelly absent, but subtle bubblegum is discernible. The clove notes persist into the flavor and are accompanied by a light residual malt sweetness due to the low hop bitterness and a pleasant tart and lightly grainy wheat flavor. Finishes w/ a quickly fading sweetness and banana esters upfront, but is dry and clean overall.
