A- Almost pure black. There is always a bit of light shining through the edges but this is pretty black. Good finger or so of very light tan head that stays around a while and leaves a good ring of bubbles. Fairly nice lacing that leaves allmost spider web like designs.
S- Strong coffee and chocolate notes, very similar so some Imperial Stouts I have had. Dark malts are there.
T- Most definitely coffee, much more then I was expecting given the nose. Ever so slight sweet chocolate flavors but is masked by the much stronger dark malt coffee. Dark malts are also prevalent. Boozyness is definitely there but not too bad.
M- Goes down fairly smooth, just a little bit of alcohol bite left over on the palate after its down.
D- Definitely not a beer I want many of. The strong coffee flavors and super alcohol are a bit much. But that is too be expected by something that is called an Imperial Porter so I can't blame it. Overall I enjoyed drinking it.

Poured from a bottle into a Gulden Draak snifter.
A: Jet black. Pours a creamy tan brown head that lasts the entire glass. Lacing throughout as well.
S: Not giving off any extreme scents. Picking up the malt with a little bit of the chocolate and sweet caramel. Reminiscent of an Oyster Stout. Also picking up some fresh citrusy hops.
T: Very hop forward with a wave of initial bitterness. Mellows out to a perfect balance of maltiness and chocolate. At the end you're left with a smokey malty finish that makes you want more.
M: About as thick as a Porter can get without encroaching into Stout territory. I usually don't like the thinness of Porters but this one has enough flavor to back it up.
O: Very surprised with this beer, perfectly balanced. Will purchase many, many more times.
