Poured into a pint glass
A - Beautiful looking copper body is topped off with an off-white, creamy head. Carbonation feeds the head giving it good retention, and leaves a droopy lacing all of the way down the glass. Excellent pour!
S - Nice mixture of citrus fruits and hops. The former gives a sweet, pleasant aroma... It's just too damn faint, though, especially for an IIPA.
T - Hits the tongue with a barrage of hops, which melts away into a much more citrusy flavor. Grapefruit, with a malty sweetness coming along for the ride. Not noticable at first is the deadly bitterness that will give a harsh kick at the back end. Rough, balanced. This one's a real kick in the teeth.
S - A full, creamy body with smooth carbonation. Finish is clean, if a bit bitter. Alcohol hits the gut, but not the tongue. Fun to swish around a bit!
Overall/notes - About as good as the first one I had the other night. Other than a pretty faint nose, the beer does exactly what it advertises: nails you with all-hop flavor and bitterness. If you try this one with others, make sure you finish with it. I can't taste anything but Double Dog when I take the last sip.
