poured from a 12oz into my arrogant bastard pint glass, topped by 1.5 fingers of creamy off white yellowish head. Slow dissipation and thick lacing ensue. The body is an orange to brown thick malty looking brew.
The smell is refreshing; floral hops up from with a brown sugar malt sweetness in the background. I pick up some orange and tangerine as well as the brown sugar.
The taste is great, it reminds me why I love Imperial Ipa's. The hops are the dominant flavor here, fruity and piney bitterness which saturates the palate and leaves a hot spicy aftertaste which sticks with you for quite a while. The amount of malt they threw in here to balance that hop assault must have been immense, I get a ton of maple syrup brown sugar flavors combined with a thick malty almost chewy sweetbread. It's delicious, I could drink this as dinner.
The mouthfeel is perfect for a double ipa, thick with malt and creamy from a smooth natural carbonation.
Drinkable, from the previous lines I have written I think you may be able to surmise that yes, this brew is definitely drinkable.
