They call this one a double pale ale, but I'm tasting double IPA all the way. Semantics aside, this is a great beer.
The appearance is the standard dark amber of an IPA with a white head that laces the glass quite well. Very nice.
The smell hits you with some esters and hops.
The taste is grapefruit and citrus hops with a surprising malt backbone for balance. The hops beat your tastebuds, but the malt rounds things out.
The mouthfeel is slightly viscous and sweet.
Drinkability would be extremely high if not for the intoxicating effects of it's ABV. Not a session beer, but good for the style.
Glad I tried this one. Must get more.
