Poured into a Dogfish Spiegelau glass. Label says 357A14.

A- Pours a reddish dark amber color with a 1/2 inch light tan head that retains well before becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a full sheet of surface foam. Semi-resilient lacing leaves a jagged ring behind.

S- Sweet malt aroma comes through solidly in the nose with some hop fume trailing behind it. Notes of brown sugar, caramel and a bit of booze.

T- Definitely more malt forward with lots of continuing sweetness. The hop bitterness is noticeable but drowned out by the high sugar content. It actually kind of teeters on barleywine territory but lacks the complexity of the style. Earthy aftertaste and the booze is actually quite well hidden.

M- Slightly sharp from the alcohol with medium carbonation and a body leaning toward the fuller side.

O- Though it's not something I would buy repeatedly, it's a nice beer to try and tie one off due to it having a high drinkability as well as high ABV.
