Had on tap @ Issac Newtons in Newtown, PA during a special tapping. When it was brought to my table, it still had a small mocha colored head. Not strong lacing. Color was very, very dark lack, with maybe just a hint of brown/red torwards the top rim...but it's kind of a stretch.
Aroma surprisingly was a tad let down. Kind of on the lighter side. Not much other than a slight distant whiskey/booze and perhaps some lightly roasted coffee beans. I expected a bit more aroma out of this, but perhaps the draught version lacks it?
Flavor is wonderful! Big whiskey notes up front...but not overkill and boozy. Just a nice amount to smooth over the whole mouthfeel. Lots of roasted coffee beans and slight bitter/sweet chocolate. A little oak comes through, malts, and some sugars. Not overly sweet either...like some barrel aged porters/stouts. Mouthfeel is medium body, medium carbonation, slightly boozy. A very tasty beer!
