A-very golden, fairly bubbly. not much head
S-very hoppy and citrusy. very sweet smelling!
T-very hoppy and i'm tasting a lot of sage/thyme flavors. there's also some hints of berries. the after-taste is mostly hoppy with some vanilla as well. this is quite an interesting, well put together IPA.
M-medium but soft carbonation with a great creamy finish
D-mmm this was good and the after-taste stays and the high ABV is not apparent at all. i won't mind having this again. and again. this is a finely brewed beer and it redefined what i thought a beligian IPA was capable of.

Poured into a New Belgium goblet. Label says 139A14
A- Pours an orangeish medium amber color with a 1/2 inch off-white head that retains a bit before becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a full sheet of surface foam. Semi-resilient lacing leaves a jagged ring behind.
S- Floral aroma of grassy hops and Belgian yeast. Sweet, fruity and spicy.
T- The banana and bubble gum notes of the yeast comes on first and then turns on its heels to meet the bitterness and vegetal flavor of the hops. Alcohol is decently masked and the taste remains interesting to the bottom of the glass.
M- Sharp from the hops and alcohol. Medium carbonation and a body leaning toward the lighter side.
O- This was probably the first Belgian IPA I'd ever had when I first tried it years ago and loved it. Still holds up today but I've certainly met other beers that attempt the same thing and do it better since then.
