Pours a slightly cloudy pumpkin hued amber with a small frothy head that falls leaving a coating of lacing.
The smell is inoculated with a rush of fruity yeasty goodness. Sweet belgian yeast followed by a dingy, sort of sour funk along with a less than noticeable citrusy hop profile that is covered up by the bready forefront.
The taste is amazingly hop forward, spicy, then sweet, then fruity bitter oranges attack. Some sweet bread-like flavors and then a bunch of booze. This is not an aggressive, sharp booziness, but it is strong and rides the hop profile into the mildly bitter finish.
The mouthfeel moderately light and strangely coating. Perfect carbonation makes this one feel very nice in my mouth.
Overall, I didn't taste a ton of Belgian influence in this brew. As one of my favorite styles, Raging Bitch makes an alright showing. Very drinkable Bel-IPA (and strong to boot) but fell a bit short in my eyes.
