A - Pours a slightly hazed, lighter-amber color with one finger of creamy, light beige head. Head drops down at a fairly slow pace and leaves some very solid lacing behind. Nice retention as well.
S - Citric and piney hop aromas jump out first with slightly sweet, spicy yeast aromas making themselves known as well. There is a touch of overripe bananas and some other tropical fruit aromas in the background.
T - A nicely balanced flavor with citric hop flavors up front. These lead into some spicy, bready yeast tones as well as some caramel sweetness. Slight belgian funkiness and some tropical fruit flavors (banana and mango, mostly) also make an appearance. Finishes with a piney hop presence which linger with some of the yeasty flavor into the aftertaste.
M - Medium-bodied with a soft carbonation that lends an appealing smoothness to this brew. A bit of resinous quality as well.
D - This brew was a very pleasant surprise. The flavors balance very nicely together, and the 8.3% abv is basically unnoticeable. A solid offering from Flying Dog that I will definitely have to pick up again.
