Pours a pale, golden amber with red highlights, very clear under a pretty, sudsy head. Some chunky lacing left in a glass entirely unappropriate for beer tasting.
Smells of pineapple upside down cake with papaya and lemon. Flowers and earth come through as the beer warms. Pine.
These are slightly thinner on the taste under a dominant grapefruit hop profile. Burnt sugars produce a grilled fruit taste, especially as the beer warms. Pine. Pepper.
Mouthfeel is sharp. A bit thin on the tongue with high, prickly carbonation. The hop oils linger as grapefruit continues to dominate.
Things area bit ragged for this old dog. More IPA than B...elgique. An American in Brussels. The Daisy Miller of Beers? Caught a yeast infection at the Coliseum. Worth it for the money ... Enjoyable if un...cultured ... Shout out to Ryan of Pleasant Ridge for the bottle ....
