750 mL corked & caged.
Pours a cloudy pure amber, the very color of petrified sap, with a clingy white head. Aroma of hops, citrus and candy sugar.
Syrupy sweet with big hops bitterness, some citrus acidity, and a creamy mouthfeel. I taste tangerine peel. Drinks pretty easy for such a big, bitter, and cloying beer and a strong alcohol finish. Very enjoyable.
To me, this was like a pretty straightforward Double IPA (bordering on barleywine, even) - I didn't get a lot of the "Belgian" element. There were hints of funk around the edges, but that was about it.
Still, a very good beer that is changing some of the notions I have about Flying Dog (in a good way).
