Pours a light golden/apricot color with a little over 2 fingers of off white head. Great retention and lacing.
Smell explodes with tropical fruit hops - grapefruit and pineapple, mostly, with Belgian yeast sitting underneath and giving off aromas of lemon zest, banana, and slight spice. Also a little bit of biscuity malt. Really smells amazing.
Damn that's good. Citrus hops upfront, which segues into the Belgian yeast which brings nice fruity esters - banana and lemon - and then some bready malt before finishing with some nice pine and grapefruit rind bitterness. A really great interplay of flavors. Leaves the palate with a nice fruity aftertaste. Awesome.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, slightly creamy, finishes dry.
This beer is one of, if not actually, my favorite Belgian IPA's. Super hop-forward, but doesn't over-power the Belgian flavor. The bready malts provide a nice backbone to all the flavors bouncing around. Just a great example of a BIPA and an awesome beer all-around.
