Pours a deep gold, hints of umber, deep gold, and a nice 2 finger head that laces the glass as you drink.
A get a citrus and pines hoppy smell. Nice and subtle on the ole olfactory.
From the first sip I get the Belgium style biscuits and hops, citrus taste, mixed nicely with a undertone of hops and slight bitterness. Very well balanced and alcohol is superbly hidden fffor 8.3%. Well done!
This has a full body mouthfeel that sticks for a small while then a smooth bitter aftertaste.
This beer was 'outlawed' under our (michigan) former governor due to the name. Now it is allowed to be sold again, and I have to say, it is wonderful, very impressive blend of 2 unique styles. Be careful as the alcohol is well hidden. This is well worth the while.
