A: Pours a hazy yellowish orange with an finger off-white head. Leaves a small amount of lacing.

S: Piney hops, with a small trace of belgian yeast esters, banana, bubblegum, clove, orange peel.

T: Intense bitter piney hops, grapefruit, pineapple, clove, banana.

M: Medium bodied, medium carbonation with a dry finish.

O: Great beer fresh or with a little age. If you get it fresh it's pretty bitter and the hops shine, wait a little and the hops mellow out and the Belgian yeast shines.

Beer bottle (33 cl.) purchased from Le souffleur de bières (Nantes), and tasted in 2011.

Appearance : golden color with white foamy head (nor persistent).
Smell : malty and yeasty aromas.
Taste and mouthfeel : malty and hoppy flavours, leading to a dry and bitter finish.
Drinkability : a good beer in the style Belgian IPA.

Whoa, a most excellent beer. Served at a good temperature, with a large, foamy, frothy, off white head that settles to a light cover after a bit and lots of lace. Color is a clear medium amber with some bubble trails. Flavor is huge hop with plenty of malt, dry, spice, carbonic tang, a little banana. Body is perfect, ditto carbonation. Finish is like flavor, very long and only a hint of alcohol. Good hop head brew.

Appearance- light to medium amber. Smell is refreshing and hoppy, with hints of malt. Mouthfeel is, well, let me see if we can discribe this. It hits the tongue with sweetness and then move around to the back with slight bitterness. Then it is gone, nice. Taste is great. Overall this beer is very fridge worth and will complement ribs very well.

Poured from their 12oz bottle...

Appearance - Poured 2 fingers of off-white eggshell bumpy cumulus head, color of the beer is really a gorgeous hazy yellow to lite orange amber, really looks great in a glass.

Smell - Bananas, pineapple, a vanilla carmelly butterscotch scent, spiciness like nutmeg, touch of pine - what a complex nose!

Taste - Oh my goodness what a nice transition! Starts sweet sourdough and yeast with spices - nutmeg, coriander and white pepper, then a blossom of banana and tropical fruit in the center of the mouth, then the carb has wonderfully crisp and tingly edges that run over the tongue, then theres a ruch of floral and grassy hops that dries to some grapefruit peel and pine long into the finish, with pockets of carb tingle and the spices mentioned previously in the corners of the mouth. There's a semi-sweet malt backbone for the entire ride, but no carmelly flavors that I got in the nose. This is all about the yeast, spices, banana/tropic fruits and hops - in that order.

Mouthfeel - This starts out very smooth and nearly creamy, but then the medium carb steals the show and leaves brite, crisp edges which clears the way for classic bittering and drying hops to conclude long into the finish.

Overall - There is so much going on here! A wonderful complexity of flavors here, not exactly balanced here as there is a definite order and progression, but I LOVE the progression in this Belgian IPA. None of the acts in this play stands out, they work perfectly together. I love this beer!
