Poured into a large snifter.

Hazy pale golden appearance. Over three fingers thick huge fluffy head of white color that persists really well. Awesome looks. More than average number of bubbles. Excellent lacing of the receding head.

Aroma: Very sweet fruity aroma with a lot of yeast presence. Clove is substantial. Good spice presence. Faint hops. Nose is more than of a strong belgian ale.

Taste: Very mild hop presence. Spicy-sweet finish. Malt presence is good. Clove like and some spice taste that follows the nose. Lack of hops is very surprising to me.

Mouth feel: Medium bodied feel. Moderate to high carbonation that does not hurt. Easy to drink. No astringency whatsoever.

Felt all the way as if i was drinking a strong ale made Belgian style.

Note: Hops in this brew grow on you as you drink. So improves the likability.

I like it. I would have loved it if the brewers were not so stingy with the hops.

Pours a hazy pale orange with a one finger white head, with good retention and nice lacing. The aroma has pears, Belgian yeast, citrus, cloves, and pale malts.

The taste is more bitter than I would have expected and has citrus, citrus zest, pepper, phenols, Belgian yeast, pale malts, and cloves. The proportions of the ingredients do not seem to be ideal, and this beer kind of seems like it was just thrown together, without much thought be given as to how it would turn out. Each sip seems to start sweet, and finishes overly bitter, with a good deal of citrus zest.

Medium bodied with above average carbonation, and an overly bitter finish. A decent beer, but if falls short of the best Belgian IPAs.

12 oz. bottle, with no apparent bottled on date present, just a code printed on the label 277A13. It's been a long time coming since I've last drank this beer, so I figured it was about time I had it again. Awesome Steadman bottle art, as always. Expectations are decently high.

Poured into an over-sized wine glass.

A - Pours a nice bright, slightly cloudy lemon-orange colored body with two fingers of fluffy off-white head. Head has some nice staying power for a 7.50% abv beer.

S - Smell is light and fairly subdued. Mild earthy hops, lemongrass, wheat, overripe green apples, some must, & some indistinct tropical fruit.

T - Taste follows the nose with the addition of some spicy clove and bubblegum. Earthy grains, wheat, green apples, pineapple, dry herbal hop bitterness, and just a touch of yeast funk.

M - Feel ends dry and grainy, with some herbal hop bitterness and green apple lingering. Medium bodied with good, if somewhat high carbonation.

Overall, an okay outing from Flying Dog. Clearly this isn't their finest hour, but it is nice for what it is. Maybe not as much "farmhouse", but subtly complex, yet still approachable. An easy drinker; well worth a try at least once.

330ml bottle served in a pint glass.

Best before 24.05.2014 stamped in the label.

A: First of all, the usual Flying Dog beautiful bottle art. Magnificent! Pours a dark yellow to orange color. Slightly cloudy reminds honey. Forms abig bubbled aired white head when poured. Medium retention and lots of lingering lacings formed and left in the glass

S: Great in the nose. An authentic sweet grains IPA with hints of spices. Strong notes of sweet pale grains, light caramel malts, crystal malts. Great piny and bit citrus hops profile. A bit fruity with notes of citrus fruits. Bready belgian style yeasts in the very end

T: Great taste. Slightly sweet upfront. Intense hops. Great spiciness. Notes of pine, sweet grains, orange peel, pineapple, pepper, caramel malts, crystal malts, brown sugar. Nice hoppy bitter sting. Great balance

M: Medium body. Bit molasses. Good carbonation. Sweet grains and quite piny aftertaste

O: Great drinkability. Great combination of farmhouse & IPA. A winner
