Got a six pack from the local beer cave poured into the cool new Flying Dog tulip. Had this on tap in NYC a few months back and have been aching for more ever since.
A - Straw gold with a large head even from an easy pour.
S - Saison yeast is right up front with citrusy hops tingling the nose and making one question what they are smelling...is it a saison or an ipa?
T - Nice citrusy bitterness hits first then fades to the Saison yeast. Strong yeast flavour here. Leaves a lovely aftertaste of the yeast with the refreshing nature of hops keeping you ready for another sip.
M - Thin like saison Dupont with high carbonation.
O - Not as good as it was fresh, the dry hops have faded in the bottled version but still a wonderful hybrid beer. Easily one of my fav belgian ipas and something I hope to see more from So Cal brewers.

Pours a hazy pale orange with a one finger white head, with good retention and nice lacing. The aroma has pears, Belgian yeast, citrus, cloves, and pale malts.
The taste is more bitter than I would have expected and has citrus, citrus zest, pepper, phenols, Belgian yeast, pale malts, and cloves. The proportions of the ingredients do not seem to be ideal, and this beer kind of seems like it was just thrown together, without much thought be given as to how it would turn out. Each sip seems to start sweet, and finishes overly bitter, with a good deal of citrus zest.
Medium bodied with above average carbonation, and an overly bitter finish. A decent beer, but if falls short of the best Belgian IPAs.
