Very interesting brew.

Pours out a bright golden color, with a tremendous amount of fluffy white head and a champagne-like carbonation.

Smells strongly of coriander, lemon peel, orange, fruity hops and Belgian yeast.

The taste follows this very closely. The Belgian yeast and coriander stand out, while the hops are kinda in the back and the citrus fruits come out. Not very bitter for an IPA.

Very smooth and easy to drink.

On tap at World of Beer in Raleigh

A - orange gold with a big, dense, white head that has great retention

S - funky Belgian yeast; an odd note akin to hot dogs or smoke

T - funky, a hint of white grapes, bitter piny hop character

M - crisp, well carbonated, smooth, medium bodied

This is a decent Belgian IPA. The hops are bitter enough to be noticeable and fight through the intense, yeasty flavor. The nose is contradictory; off putting and pleasing at the same time. Good flavor, good drinkability. It's worth a try.

12oz bottled poured into a tulip.

A: Very light honey straw color with a humongous fluffy white head. Considerable lacing.

S: Lots of farm funk with a hit of bananas and cloves. Definitely a Belgian smell going on.

T: Very spicy with a hint of bananas. Spices definitely dominate the palette. The saison yeast shines in this one, giving it a unique flavor. Slight bready taste as well.

M: Fairly carbonated with a spicy finish.

O: Flying Dog is finally starting to put out some good beers. I haven't enjoyed a single beer from them until they put out kujo, which was freaking fantastic. This one is nice and a cool concept, but it's nothing all that special. I look forward to trying Flying Dog brews in the future, looks like they're finally onto something.

a cloudy honey yellow pour with lots of fluffy white head. smells of light grassy hops, orange peel, bready. taste much like a very hoppy saison.. which is a fantastic thing! very citrusy lemon taste, pepper, bready, bitter grassy hop flavor lingers around in the end. medium body, slight creamy feel with excellent amounts of carbonation. great lacing on this beer also!

overall this is a great beer. i'd say it's more of a saison than a belgian ipa... very similar to sorachi ace (but not quite there). slightly heavy booze taste towards the end of the glass - but other than that, it's a very refreshing beer for a beautiful night like tonight.

A- Pours a beautiful, hazy, golden honey hue with a GIGANTIC fluffy, cloud-like white head. So much sticky spiderweb lacing sticking like glue to the sides of my DFH glass. Explosive carbonation the bubbles and percolates beneath the remaining foam.

S- Nice lemony notes... some spicy black pepper and orange and grapefruit peel thrown in. The banana notes from the yeast come alive as it warms up. Picking up little hints of pineapple, ginger, pine needles, and little touches of caramel sweetness. Smells waaay more like a saison than a Belgian IPA.

T- Sharp notes of lemon, grapefruit, banana, black pepper, basil, thyme and ginger. Tasting some fresh grass, candied citrus peel, and bitter hops. This isnt a saison?...really? Hmmmm... whatever it's classified as, I dig it!

M- Amazing prickley carbonation that just lets all the flavors explode in your mouth. The bitterness and citrusy lemon from the hops are what stick around. Very lively and bright!

O- Really well done whatever you want to call it. Love the mouthfeel, beautiful looking, a wonderful floral aroma, and very refreshing on a hot day! I'll definately be picking up more of this!!!

appearance: pours a vibrant golden color with slight haze, good carbonation and a thick white foam head (takes quite a bit to dissipate).

smell: crisp and clean scent with evenly balanced between spice and hops.

taste: begins how one would expect from the style, velvety essences of spice and yeast are forward, progressing to the well balanced notes of malts and hops, finishes just how it begins.

overall: very enjoyable, many similarities can be drawn to Flying Dog's Raging Bitch, but this one is more casually drinkable.

$11.99/6'er. Specialty malts include Rye, Munich, and wheat. Femented with a saison yeast. Brewed with spices, not listed on bottle or website. Hops are a "secret blend". 75 IBU. 7.5% ABV.

Pours out to a faintly hazy pale golden, forming a tall peaking and growing bone white head. VERY brisk carbonation, ~3.5 carbs. Nice retention and lacing. Aroma of mango from the hops, as well as possible orange peel, pineapple and tropical fruit esters from the yeast with a little bit of saison sulfur. Mouthfeel is explosive like champagne with a deceptively light body. The taste opens nicely with the tropical fruits of mango and pineapple, but then is overwhelmed with a pronounced, very firm grapefruit pith bitterness. Way too bitter for my liking. Flourish of pepper in the finish.

I really like Flying Dogs brews, but this is way to bitter and overcarbonated for my liking. I would not buy it again, in contrast to their Red Sky saison which I really like.

Poured into my crystal mug, the beer has a medium golden color, and produces a one and a half finger high, white head. It dissipates leaving good lacing.
The smell is citrus, orange, pine and yeast.
Tasting the beer, those fruity hops are up front, being met by earthy flavors in the middle, and finished with yeast.
Very nice and drinkable beer, I really dig it!

12oz bottle poured into a snifter. Pours a deep hazy straw-yellow, huge fluffy eggshell white head, lots of lacing and nice retention. The aromas are very nice, but the hops unfortunately take a backseat. Lots of banana and candied sugars. There's a clean belgian funk going on, I just wish the hops were more pronounced. Flavors are nice, but not aggressive. Fruity funk dominates with a subtle spiciness. More banana and bubblegum blended with black pepper. There's a nice bitterness, but it's once again not aggressive. It's more refreshing than anything. There's a nice earthiness and the flavors are pretty rustic. Mouthfeel is nice.. it's creamy, but at the same time it's maybe a tad over-carbonated. Either way it's pretty smooth; medium-bodied. Alcohol is barely noticeable. It's a pretty refreshing beer, I just wish the hops shined more.

This has more saison/farmhouse qualities than IPA qualities. It's a nice crisp beer, enjoyable, but nothing to crazy over. Raging Bitch BLOWS this out of the water, IMO.
